After the development of the Internet era, we have seen many reports about depression in the news. In the past, these three words were very unfamiliar to me, and I did not know what they meant. I used to think it was an insignificant issue and didn’t need much attention. But after hearing reports of depression patients committing suicide, I no longer dare to underestimate it. As society develops rapidly and everyone faces increasing pressure, we find that the number of depressed individuals is growing, with over a billion people worldwide affected. Its harm is actually more significant than cardiovascular problems and even more dreadful.

As the incidence rate continues to rise, some people begin to feel a sense of crisis and want to know what signs depression may exhibit during its occurrence. Understanding it early allows for early detection and intervention. Having such awareness is commendable. During the onset of depression, individuals often say certain phrases, which we will now take a closer look at.

In one’s lifetime, one will inevitably encounter setbacks; it is impossible for everything to go smoothly. When facing difficulties, everyone’s mindset varies. Optimistic individuals actively seek solutions to problems, while those with a pessimistic mindset are prone to negative emotions. Prolonged suppression by negative emotions can lead to psychological problems. Individuals in this group often express their distress when faced with challenges, even if the problems are minor. While saying this, they appear anxious and uneasy. If you notice someone around you constantly expressing distress and being prone to nervousness and anxiety, be cautious of depression.

Individuals who frequently mention “Nobody likes me” should also pay attention, as they may be showing signs of depressive tendencies. Generally, such individuals lack inner confidence and affirmation. Over time, this can lead to increased feelings of inferiority. Getting caught in self-doubt makes it challenging to break free from it. Even when encouraged by others, they may still have doubts and feel unliked. This kind of self-doubt is commonly seen among people with depression.

Individuals with a sunny disposition always seek to explore the world and appreciate its beauty. However, for those with depressive tendencies, their world may feel constricted and revolve around self-imagination. They are reluctant to engage with the outside world, fearing they won’t fit in and will be rejected. Hence, when invited out by others, they often subconsciously decline, saying they don’t want to go out. Even with repeated persuasion, they remain resolute in staying indoors and may even plead not to be taken out. This resistance is already a dangerous sign and requires early intervention. If left unchecked, it could lead to severe consequences, causing greater harm to one’s mental health and overall well-being.

Do you often hear these statements in your surroundings? If you frequently hear someone express these sentiments, it is essential to take them seriously and offer them care as it may help address their unhealthy psychological state. If you find yourself saying the aforementioned three phrases regularly, it’s crucial to be vigilant and seek intervention early. Overcoming personal psychological barriers may require the support of those around you. A bit of care and encouragement can be the remedy for combating negative emotions, so don’t hesitate to show your care and support.
