On March 1, 2021, the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, released the 2020 Mental Health Blue Book — “China National Mental Health Development Report (2019-2020),” showing that in 2020, the detection rate of depression among adolescents was 24.6%. The detection rate for mild depression was 17.2%, which was 0.4 percentage points higher than in 2009, and severe depression was 7.4%, consistent with 2009. The level of depression in girls was slightly higher than in boys, and the level of depression in non-only children was higher than in only children. The level of depression increases with grade level. Depression has become a major threat to the current health and growth of adolescents.

Depression, Youth Psychological Intervention Summit Forum
To promote the development of rehabilitation services in our province, enhance the level of rehabilitation services, popularize knowledge about depression, under the leadership of the Gansu Charity Federation, on July 14, the province-wide Mood Disorders (Depression) Specialized Academic Conference and the Depression and Youth Psychological Intervention Summit Forum were grandly convened. The conference was jointly organized by the Gansu Charity Federation, hosted by the Lanzhou Brain Kang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and guided by representatives from the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Preservation Research Institute, the People’s Liberation Army’s 984th Hospital, the National Emergency General Hospital, and representatives from multiple other hospitals.
The conference aims to promote academic exchanges and cooperation in neurology and psychiatry and rehabilitation medicine, advance discipline research construction, promote the transformation of research results, and will help the general public access more authoritative health knowledge, more comprehensive health services, and higher-quality health living.
Through this academic conference, the Lanzhou Brain Kang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital will play a leading role in the discipline, standardize diagnosis and treatment practices, achieve specialized standardization and scientific development, provide higher-quality medical services to patients, and promote better and faster recovery for depression and youth psychology in our province.
