What is the relationship between AMH levels and fertility? How can AMH levels be increased?

Must read

The AMH value, or Anti-Mullerian Hormone level, is an important indicator for assessing female fertility. AMH is secreted by the granulosa cells of small follicles in the ovaries, and its concentration can reflect the quantity and quality of follicles in the ovaries. AMH plays a crucial role in the female reproductive process.

The relationship between AMH value and fertility

The AMH value is an important marker for measuring ovarian reserve function. The more follicles there are in the ovaries, the higher the AMH concentration; conversely, the fewer follicles there are, the lower the AMH concentration. As women age, the quality and quantity of eggs in the ovaries correspondingly decline, leading to ovarian function aging and thus a decrease in AMH levels. Therefore, the AMH value can be used as one of the indicators for assessing female fertility. The normal AMH value for women of childbearing age generally ranges from 2-6 ng/ml, and this value may drop rapidly after the age of 35, possibly reaching 1 ng/ml around the age of 40.

Methods to enhance AMH value

1. Stem cell technology: Stem cells have self-renewal and differentiation potential and can differentiate into various types of cells. In the treatment of premature ovarian failure, stem cell technology can improve ovarian function and increase fertility by repairing damaged ovarian tissue and promoting follicle regeneration. Research has shown that injecting stem cells can, to some extent, enhance the AMH values in patients with premature ovarian failure.

2. Improve lifestyle: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle also has a positive effect on increasing AMH values. This includes maintaining good dietary habits, consuming adequate protein, vitamins, and minerals; engaging in moderate aerobic exercise to maintain a healthy weight; and avoiding harmful habits such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.

3. Avoid excessive ovulation induction: Overstimulation of ovulation can lead to a significant decrease in the number of follicles, thus lowering AMH values. Therefore, avoid excessive use of ovulation-inducing medications without a doctor’s guidance.

4. Treat related diseases: Certain diseases, such as thyroid dysfunction and diabetes, may affect AMH levels. Timely treatment of these diseases helps maintain normal AMH values.

5. Maintain a good mental state: Long-term stress and anxiety can negatively affect ovarian function, leading to lower AMH levels. Therefore, maintaining a good mental state is also beneficial for enhancing AMH values.

The AMH value is closely related to women’s fertility. For women with low AMH values, implementing the above methods can help improve ovarian function and thereby enhance fertility.
