Disease Prevention for Children of Appropriate Age: A Review of Diseases During Child Growth

Must read

During the change of seasons, influenza is frequent, not only easy for adults to get sick due to lack of extra clothing, but also for children, making it a very common and serious health issue among children. This condition is often accompanied by runny nose, cough, headache, fever, and other symptoms. Parents should adjust their children’s clothing in time and seek medical help early, usually resulting in a quick recovery.

Meningitis is more common in children under six, especially infants, and its onset may be triggered by high fever. The course of the disease is about one week, with subtle initial symptoms that are easily overlooked, becoming one of the childhood diseases that parents tend to neglect. When a child has a prolonged fever, parents should be vigilant and not rely solely on home cooling measures, which could delay medical treatment.

In addition to influenza, diarrhea is also very common in children. Children’s immune systems are relatively weak, coupled with poor self-control over diet, requiring more attention from parents. Prolonged diarrhea not only causes physical discomfort in children but may also lead to other complications. Therefore, when necessary, besides giving the child anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medication, it is also important to supplement with saline solution to prevent dehydration.

In general, common childhood illnesses are often related to colds, exposure to coldness, or poor food hygiene. With more meticulous care in daily life, many diseases can actually be prevented.
