Middle-aged man, how much weight is considered healthy? Expert: Don’t lose weight randomly, just maintain this indicator.

Must read

Due to the significant improvement in people’s lives compared to the past, the enhancement of quality of life is most directly reflected in daily diet. When people’s dietary issues improve, it may sometimes lead to an excess of nutrients in the body, resulting in obesity. This phenomenon is particularly evident among middle-aged men. They tend to experience significant weight gain, leading to a gradual increase in weight during the middle-aged stage, with many men developing beer bellies, further contributing to weight gain.

Entering the middle-aged stage is relatively comfortable for men, and weight gain is a common occurrence in their lives. As men enter middle age, their bodily functions no longer operate as they did in their youth, and the metabolic functions within the body change with increasing age.

As a result, many middle-aged men start considering weight loss to maintain a weight similar to their younger years. However, according to experts, if middle-aged men can maintain their weight within a certain index for a long period, their health remains stable, and arbitrary weight loss is unnecessary.

How much weight is considered healthy for men in middle age?

The health condition of men entering middle age is crucial. There is a common method used to calculate weight in daily life to assess one’s health status and the need for weight loss. This method is quite simple: subtract 105 from one’s height in centimeters to obtain a healthy weight value. Therefore, experts suggest that if a middle-aged man’s weight falls within this index, weight loss is not required.

Let’s take an example: if a middle-aged man is 175 centimeters tall, subtracting 105 from his height results in a healthy weight of 70 kilograms. However, due to individual differences, there may be some margin of error in this calculation. Nevertheless, experts state that if a middle-aged man’s weight falls within a range of plus or minus 10 kg based on this method, it is considered healthy. In other words, a middle-aged man with a height of 175 cm is considered healthy if his weight ranges between 130 and 150 pounds.

Many middle-aged men are concerned that their gradual weight gain may affect their health, leading some to engage in physical exercise and consume fitness-related substances. However, this practice is detrimental to health.

If middle-aged men notice significant weight gain, they can try using the aforementioned method to determine if their weight falls within the healthy range. If it does, following expert advice indicates that arbitrary weight loss is unnecessary.

Weight gain during middle age is a common occurrence and is typically normal as long as it falls within healthy parameters. It’s essential to maintain a positive attitude and mindset towards life as we grow older and face potential body changes.

If a man finds his weight to be either too low or too high after calculation, immediate adjustments should be made as these are signs of unhealthy conditions.
