People will be called elderly at what age, and several signs of aging should be respected when they appear

Must read

People have different views on the age definition of the elderly, mainly due to individual cognitive differences. With the improvement of living standards, many older people still look young on the outside, making it difficult to judge their actual age based on their appearance, similar to celebrities. According to the standards of the World Health Organization, the age group of 45 to 59 is considered middle-aged, while the age group of 60 to 89 is classified as the elderly. Those above 89 are considered symbols of longevity. In addition, from the perspective of national retirement age, women over 55 and men over 60 are usually considered to have entered old age.

However, age is not the only criterion for measuring aging. Some people in their seventies and eighties are still physically strong, while some in their thirties and forties have begun to show signs of aging and face health issues. The true condition of the body can often be reflected in some signs.

When the body sends out the following signals, it may indicate that aging is silently taking place: – Decreased digestive ability, feeling bloated and uncomfortable with small amounts of food, loss of appetite. – Abnormalities in the legs and feet, such as feeling cold, weak, numb, or even painful, confirming the saying “feet show aging first.” – Increased hair loss, especially after the age of 35, the regrowth rate is slower than hair loss, which may lead to thinning hair or even baldness. – Unexplained weight gain, due to slower metabolism, reduced efficiency in food digestion and absorption leading to fat accumulation, common in middle-aged men.

These signs reveal the gradual aging process of the body. Ignoring these signs may accelerate the aging process, making one appear older faster than peers of the same age. Therefore, maintaining a suitable weight, focusing on physical health maintenance, cultivating good dietary habits and lifestyle are crucial to slowing down the aging process. Although we cannot resist the growth of age, we can take positive measures to slow down the pace of aging. Maintaining an optimistic attitude, getting enough sleep, are also secrets to maintaining a youthful appearance and looking younger among peers.
