On March 1, 2021, the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, released the 2020 Mental Health Blue Book – “China National Mental Health Development Report (2019-2020)”, showing that in 2020, the detection rate of depression among adolescents was 24.6%, with a mild depression detection rate of 17.2%, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from 2009, and severe depression at 7.4%, consistent with 2009. The level of depression in females is slightly higher than in males, and the depression level of non-only children is higher than that of only children. The level of depression increases with grade level. Depression has become a major threat to the current health and growth of adolescents.

To promote the development of rehabilitation services in our province, improve the level of rehabilitation services, popularize knowledge about depression, and under the leadership of the Gansu Charity Federation, on July 14, the Provincial Conference on Mood Disorders (Depression) Specialty Academic Conference and the Depression, Adolescent Psychological Intervention Summit Forum were grandly held. This conference was jointly organized by the Gansu Charity Federation, hosted by Lanzhou Nao Kang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, with the guidance of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Research Institute, representatives from the People’s Liberation Army General Hospital 984, representatives from the National Emergency General Hospital, and many other hospital representatives.
The conference aims to promote academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of neurology and psychiatry and rehabilitation medicine, promote discipline research development, facilitate research results transformation, and will help the general public access more authoritative health knowledge, comprehensive health services, and higher quality health life.
