“Depression” often speaks of 5 sentences, if not said, or explained that mental and physical health is very healthy

Must read

Depression—this psychological haze cannot be underestimated. Patients often find themselves trapped in a deep abyss of negative emotions, difficult to extricate themselves. Statistics indicate that the number of depression patients in our country rises annually, with its danger only second to cardiovascular diseases, making it a significant cause of unexpected deaths among humans.

The inner world of depression patients is intricate and complex; they often fall into deep despair, with thoughts of suicide and self-harm that are hard to shake off, and may experience delusions, hallucinations, and other psychological symptoms.

Depression is not far from us!!!

In 2020, the detection rate of depression among adolescents in our country reached 24.6%, a shocking figure. More seriously, the detection rate of severe depression also hit 7.4%, meaning that seven out of every hundred adolescents are experiencing profound psychological distress. This is not just a number; it is a heavy social responsibility.

According to survey data from the World Health Organization, there are nearly 100 million depression patients in China, and behind this number are countless individuals silently enduring the torment of illness.

The lifetime prevalence rate is 6.9%, meaning that on the long journey of life, one out of every dozen people may accompany depression.

Here are five common sayings about “depression”; if you haven’t said them, it may indicate you are mentally and physically healthy:

1. “I don’t want to do anything.”

This statement reflects a typical symptom of depression—loss of interest and pleasure. Under the shadow of depression, patients may feel that activities they once enjoyed have become dull, and daily work and life have become unbearable.

They might lie in bed for long periods, feeling too weak to engage in any activities, even basic self-care becomes challenging. This state is not merely laziness; it is a result of the illness causing energy loss and lack of motivation.

2. “There’s no point in living.”

When depression patients are ensnared in endless darkness, losing hope and confidence in life, they sometimes choose to harm themselves in exchange for the fleeting pleasure and excitement derived from pain.

The gazes of those around them feel like sharp knives piercing their hearts, exacerbating their self-denial, leading them deeper into despair.

They always feel that only by leaving can those around them be liberated. In reality, deep down, depression patients yearn to be understood and accepted; they also fear leaving this world in solitude.

3. “I feel so tired.”

Depression patients often say, “I feel so tired.” Whether in work or life, they bear all the pressure on themselves, unable to release their inner depressive emotions, and long-term exposure to a high-pressure environment makes them feel exhausted.

If they make a small mistake, they may lose confidence and hope in life, thinking that no matter what they do, they cannot succeed. They feel worn out and even have suicidal thoughts.

4. “I feel like I’m trapped in a black hole.”

This statement signifies that depression patients feel unable to escape their predicament and see no way out. They may feel surrounded by loneliness, helplessness, and despair, as if there is no way to escape. If you have never said this, then you may not have faced similar predicaments or have already found solutions to the issues.

5. “I really feel useless.”

Depression patients often pursue perfection; however, once there is any imperfection in life, they feel worthless. They fall into endless self-blame and complaints, believing that nothing they do is good enough, and life has lost its meaning.

They begin to deny themselves intensely, creating a vicious cycle; when those around them agree with this viewpoint and deem them worthless, the patients’ feelings of guilt deepen.
