Individuals with mild depression, what are their catchphrases? If there is someone around you who fits this description, do not hesitate to give them a hug.

Must read

In some TV dramas reflecting ancient life, it is often seen that some young women in critical condition are diagnosed by the imperial physician as having a mental knot – the body illness is easy to cure, but the heart knot is hard to untie. The term “marriage to cheer up” is then brought up. This condition was called depression in ancient times, while nowadays it mostly refers to depression. Cheering up involves using a major joyful event in life to dissolve the patient’s inner anxieties, bearing resemblance to modern psychological counseling.

It is evident that in ancient times, people were already aware of the dangers of depression. This negative attitude could potentially impact a person’s physical health, even endangering their life. While it is unnecessary to “marry to cheer up”, a simple hug can be given instead. A simple hug can provide a sense of security, boost dopamine secretion, help depressed individuals find a sense of belonging, alleviate stress, which are all beneficial. Don’t hesitate to offer your hugs.

How do we identify depression?

To diagnose if a person is depressed, a series of psychological and physiological evaluations are needed for a definitive diagnosis. Those experiencing mild depression may have some catchphrases, which can be used as auxiliary judgment methods. If someone around you often speaks this way, remember to give them a hug.

It’s all my fault

When faced with unfair treatment in life, people react differently. For example, if two individuals put in the same effort and one gets promoted while the other doesn’t, most would think the promoted person has a special relationship with the boss. However, some people with a negative or mildly depressed mindset frequently say, “It’s all my fault”, solely blaming themselves for the issue. When they say these five words, their tone is low, and their head is lowered.

Ugh, so annoying

Positive individuals can display a positive attitude regardless of the situation. They can handle even trivial matters with a positive mindset, remaining organized throughout. On the other hand, those with a negative attitude may feel bored and tired of life, developing an aversion to it. The root cause is not only their negative mindset but possibly that depression has affected their physiological functions, leading to both physical and mental exhaustion, resulting in a lack of interest and boredom.

Living is so boring

Due to high levels of stress, modern individuals often make jokes like this, especially with close friends. Those who can openly joke about it generally have a good mindset, with their tone reflecting a playful attitude. The real concern lies with those who keep such thoughts to themselves, mumbling about being bored of living. Individuals who frequently express sentiments like “living is so boring” potentially harbor negative emotions, even thoughts of self-harm.

Depression is widespread, but not everyone experiences it. The general public is usually affected by sudden emotional events like heartbreak or loss of loved ones, leading to deep sorrow and melancholy. Active support can prevent them from slipping into depression. Focus should be on individuals like corporate executives and office professionals – the high IQ group. Studies on samples of high IQ individuals conducted by scientists reveal they are more prone to issues such as anxiety, irritability, and depression. There is a saying that “genius and madness are just one step away,” hinting at the need for this group to address the issue seriously. If signs of depression are noticed in someone, don’t shy away but give them a hug or help them find a new perspective on life.
