Emotional fatigue, disappointment, and avoidance have also become standards for self-evaluation. As people increase their self-denial and self-criticism, the rate of depression rises.

Secondly, frequent use of social media may also be one of the reasons behind the high incidence of depression. Today, interpersonal relationships on social media are so vital that individuals become overly sensitive to the opinions and reactions of virtual friends, viewing them as an essential part of daily life. Consequently, if someone encounters negative feedback on social media, they can easily fall into emotional lows and a state of depression.

Thirdly, lack of exercise, poor dietary habits, and insufficient sleep are also reasons why modern individuals are prone to physical and psychological issues. Long-term lack of adequate exercise and sleep can disrupt the balance of hormones and neurotransmitters in the body, leading to psychological problems and emotional lows.

Fourthly, substance abuse is another factor that can lead to depression. The abuse of alcohol, drugs, and other substances can have severe negative impacts on the brain and the nervous system, potentially affecting mental health.
