Take advantage of the dog days of summer to easily drive away depression, it would be a pity to miss it!
Everyone has a “little button” in their heart. Most of the time, we can find it ourselves, press it, and improve our mood a little bit.
However, some people may not be able to find it or know how to press it. Over time, their mood may become particularly low, which is commonly referred to as depression.
This situation is not limited by age. Children, teenagers, and adults may all encounter it.
Mastering these mood-regulating “switch” techniques can not only help us assist in treating depression but also harmonize the body’s qi and blood, make the meridians more unobstructed, and make the flow of qi smoother, thus playing a role in refreshing the mind and calming the spirit.
1. Tanzhong Acupoint
The Tanzhong acupoint is a very important acupoint located at the midpoint between the two nipples. It is the graveyard acupoint of the pericardium meridian and the meeting point of qi. This acupoint is known as one of the “happiness acupoints” because it is closely related to our emotional state.
For friends with depression, it is often related to long-term stagnation of emotions. Frequently tapping the Tanzhong acupoint is an effective method of relief. This action can regulate qi in the chest, help soothe the chest, and thus improve emotional state.
2. Hegu Acupoint
The Hegu acupoint belongs to the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian and is located between the first and second metacarpal bones on the back of the hand, specifically at the midpoint of the radial side of the second metacarpal bone.
Frequently massaging the Hegu acupoint has many benefits, including regulating qi and blood, promoting meridian circulation, dispersing qi to clear the senses, dispersing wind and releasing the surface, clearing heat, regulating the intestines and stomach, and calming the mind and spirit. Regular massage of this acupoint can have a certain relieving effect on symptoms such as depression and epilepsy.
3. Shaofu Acupoint
The Shaofu acupoint is located between the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones of the palm. When you slightly clench your fist, it is directly below the tip of the little finger.
Massaging the Shaofu acupoint can effectively relieve symptoms such as palpitations, insomnia, forgetfulness, and depression, and significantly improve suboptimal health conditions such as dizziness, blurred vision, and declining memory.
Reminder: Although acupressure has an auxiliary effect, it cannot directly replace treatment. If you wish to quickly alleviate symptoms of depression, it is recommended to combine Chinese medicine regulation and acupressure to achieve a more satisfactory treatment effect.
