I have to say, losing weight is really difficult. Whenever I ask others for tips on successful weight loss, it seems to boil down to just six words: “Control your mouth and move your legs.” Only those who have lost weight know how many tears and hardships those six words encompass. But anyway, my dear friends, don’t pin your hopes on some mystical things. Take Ms. Liu from Zhengzhou, Henan Province, who desperately wanted to lose weight; she actually believed a friend’s recommendation and spent twenty thousand to buy two sets of shapewear.
I said, when tired, can’t we be a bit more realistic? It’s just a few pieces of fabric; unless there are immortals in the world, this shapewear can’t achieve any slimming effect; otherwise, it’s just a joke with money.
According to Ms. Liu, her waist has always been somewhat uncomfortable, so she often gets massages. She has known the boss for over a decade. One time, the boss took out a set of shapewear and recommended it to her, claiming it was very useful—a high-tech gadget that could detect whether a person is sub-healthy and that it could help recover from weight gain after childbirth, equipped with various high-tech factors… He even shared personal examples, saying that he lost weight without exercising while wearing it.
Considering it costs over ten thousand, Ms. Liu hesitated a bit. The boss kept calling her “sister” and swore, “If this clothing is useless, I’ll rip it apart and eat it!”
At this point, Ms. Liu had nothing more to say, so she placed the order, spending over twenty thousand, and took home a few pieces of fabric. However, after a while, Ms. Liu was furious; this thing makes no sense at all. Not only did it not help her lose weight, but she also gained several pounds, and it did nothing good for her waist; in fact, it worsened the symptoms.
When the reporter followed Ms. Liu to see the boss, he was still enthusiastically promoting his “great product,” but clearly, the reporter wasn’t buying it. She asked if he could provide the product’s certificate of conformity, but he couldn’t produce it. Fortunately, the boss agreed to refund Ms. Liu over fourteen thousand.
Currently, local authorities have intervened. As the boss could not provide any proof of the claims he made about the product’s efficacy, he will be subjected to further inquiries. If he cannot even present purchase receipts, an investigation will be initiated.
In fact, many such scams have been exposed. It may not always be shapewear, and the claimed effects might not be weight loss, but they all promote exaggerated or unrealistic benefits, while the victims, in desperation, turn to these supposed “friends” for help and choose to believe them. Especially when it comes to salespeople’s words; one mustn’t believe everything. They call you “sister” or “brother” so warmly, but isn’t it just a ploy to get money from your pocket?
Ultimately, regardless of the time, we need to maintain rational judgment and question things more. Every situation requires a lot of effort and sweat; there are no shortcuts to take.
