Over 10,000 people watched online, the 17th edition of the academic conference on urology and nephrology received positive feedback.

On the evening of February 26th, the 17th online academic conference on male urethral injuries and strictures was held as scheduled by Zhengsheng Medical. This conference discussed some complex cases and surgical techniques, attracting high attention from peers. Over ten thousand people watched online, resulting in positive feedback. Many participants praised the conference, and hundreds of doctors joined the discussion group to actively engage.

This conference featured presentations and sharing by four experts: Professor Zhang Yong from Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Professor Huang Guanglin from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Professor Sa Yinglong from Sixth People’s Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Professor Qiu Yunqiao from Zhengsheng Medical Group Guangzhou Clinical Center. The event was moderated by Professor Luo Li, the medical director of Zhengsheng Medical Group, and Professor Xiao Yuansong from the Urology Department of the Southern Theater General Hospital.

Professor Luo Li mentioned that the experts invited to the conference are renowned for their achievements in the diagnosis and treatment of male urethral injuries and strictures, with high visibility both domestically and internationally.

Professor Zhang Yong from Beijing Tiantan Hospital discussed male urethral injuries and strictures, focusing on the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, emergency treatment measures, and surgical interventions for anterior and posterior urethral injuries. He particularly highlighted the challenges in treating posterior urethral injuries and shared a surgical procedure called urethral rendezvous reduction as well as the management of surgical complications. Additionally, he shared insights on the pathology, classification, diagnosis, and general principles of treating urethral strictures.

Professor Qiu Yunqiao, Director of the Guangzhou Clinical Center at Zhengsheng Medical Group, emphasized endoscopic treatments for urethral strictures. He emphasized the advantages of endoscopic treatments such as minimally invasive procedures, high efficacy, and low complications. Professor Qiu shared five treatment methods, including urethral dilation, urethrotomy, scar excision after urethral reconstruction, urethral stent placement, and endoscopic urethral reconstruction.

Professor Huang Guanglin from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital presented on oral mucosa urethral reconstruction procedures, outlining four surgical approaches and five reconstruction methods. He emphasized that oral mucosa is an ideal material for urethral reconstruction and highlighted the importance of selecting appropriate surgical approaches and repair methods for achieving optimal surgical outcomes based on the location of urethral strictures.

Professor Sa Yinglong from Sixth People’s Hospital discussed the diagnosis and treatment of complex urethral strictures. He defined complex urethral strictures as those with specific characteristics and complications and presented various surgical approaches to address these cases.

The meeting concluded with insightful presentations from the experts, detailed reviews from Professors Luo Li and Xiao Yuansong, interactive discussions, and on-site expert answers to professional inquiries. Due to the complexity of the cases presented, the discussion extended beyond the scheduled two hours to two and a half hours. Post-meeting, many doctors joined the academic discussion group, expressing their interest in the upcoming conference and requesting access to the conference recording to watch it again. Overall, the conference received significant attention and positive feedback.
