Frequent nighttime urination in men indicates “kidney deficiency”? Knowing the truth early might reduce some worries.

Must read

Men have a strong sense of self-esteem in that regard, which can be seen from a popular saying online: a man can never say “I can’t” at any time.

If a man is criticized by his girlfriend or wife for having weak kidneys, then his life is undoubtedly gray. However, many men do not know how to assess their own health and often guess randomly, leading to anxiety. Today, I will share some information to help men who frequently wake up at night determine whether they truly have weak kidneys; knowing the truth early may help avoid a life full of worries.

First, we need to clarify a standard: how many times should a normal person wake up at night? Before the age of 30, the vast majority do not wake up at night and can sleep straight through until dawn. This is because the kidneys and bladder functions of a normal person are intact, allowing them to go through the night without waking.

After reaching 30, the functions of various organs in the body begin to gradually decline, and some individuals may slowly develop a habit of waking up at night. However, even as age increases, a normal person’s night awakenings should not exceed 2 times.

Waking up more than twice at night is considered frequent waking, which may indicate that your body is suffering from one of several issues that need attention:

Firstly: Cystitis

The bladder is the primary organ for storing and expelling urine, and its health directly impacts our urinary system. Patients with cystitis often feel a need to urinate again immediately after having just done so, which is one significant reason for waking up frequently at night.

At this point, individuals should adjust their lifestyle habits, avoid staying up late, and reduce the intake of spicy foods. It is advisable to eat more fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and fiber, and with appropriate medication, recovery should be swift.

Secondly: Impaired kidney function

There are many factors affecting kidney function, and for men, these often include staying up late, drinking alcohol, browsing special websites, and enduring prolonged work stress. Once kidney function declines, it can easily lead to kidney yin deficiency and kidney yang deficiency, resulting not only in increased night awakenings but also accompanied by symptoms such as memory decline, insomnia with vivid dreams, and night sweats.

At this point, men should promptly quit unhealthy habits and can quickly recover through medication paired with dietary supplements. Otherwise, overall vitality will be affected, and life quality will continue to decline, impacting the quality of marital life as well.

Thirdly: Consuming many diuretic foods during the day

With summer coming, many people enjoy eating watermelon to cool off; however, this cooling fruit should not be eaten in excess. Overconsumption can damage the spleen and stomach, leading to increased urine output, with frequent night awakenings significantly affecting sleep quality. It is suggested that during summer, you eat watermelon, celery, cucumbers, and other diuretic foods in moderation to avoid negative consequences.

Finally: Prostate damage

Prostatitis is one of the common ailments among middle-aged and older men, with urinary frequency and pain being the most affected issues. Unhealthy lifestyle habits can easily harm the vulnerable prostate; if frequent night awakenings are accompanied by urinary pain, it could likely indicate prostate damage. Do not delay; seek treatment early to avoid impairing kidney function.

In summary: Men who frequently wake up at night must be experiencing certain health issues. However, they shouldn’t feel inferior or troubled by this, as the worst-case scenario is kidney weakness, and other issues can be quickly resolved through proactive treatment.

Finally, I wish everyone a healthy set of kidneys, providing us with endless energy for our lives.
