Men often sweat, does it mean the body is too “weak”? Be cautious of unusual sweating phenomenon in summer.

Must read

Sweating is a physiological phenomenon in which the human body regulates body temperature. In high temperatures or after exercise, everyone sweats a lot. In these two situations, it is abnormal for men not to sweat. However, if men continue to sweat frequently in non-high temperature environments or after exercise, it is a cause for concern.

Sweating is a way for the body to regulate itself, but the consequence of excessive sweating is the loss of a large amount of minerals from the body, disrupting the mineral balance. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, sweating is a way of “relaxing,” causing excessive loss of body fluids and Yang Qi. It is not recommended for men to engage in high-intensity exercise regularly to prevent excessive sweating, which may be harmful to the body.

The reasons behind sweating are worth pondering, especially abnormal sweating in summer, which may indicate weakness in men’s bodies and the need for timely adjustments.

Sweating a lot while sleeping at night, with sweat all over the chest and back, indicates a slow metabolic phase in the body during sleep at night, combined with relatively low nighttime temperatures, making it the stage less prone to sweating. Regular excessive sweating is related to Kidney Yin deficiency.

The Kidneys govern water, and in Yin deficiency, Kidney Yin is depleted, resulting in excessive internal heat and a series of symptoms of internal heat. A typical manifestation is night sweats and restlessness in many middle-aged men, particularly in the early hours of the morning.

Sweating frequently during the day, regardless of exercise or temperature, is associated with Yang deficiency. Yang deficiency is a common issue in men, with manifestations opposite to those of Yin deficiency.

Men with Yang deficiency experience imbalance in Yin and Yang in the body, leading to excessive loss of body fluids without any triggering factors, resulting in frequent sweating. Typical signs include cold limbs, clear urine, and signs of edema in the body.

Whether Yin or Yang deficiency, both are related to excessive male exhaustion, emotional stress, and disharmony. When managing this, men are advised to balance work and rest, maintain regular sleep patterns, avoid staying up late, and prevent negative emotions.

If substantial sweat pours out from the forehead during the day, accompanied by noticeable weight loss, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, these symptoms are also related to male physical weakness. However, the underlying cause may be associated with heart disease, as men with weakened heart function may exhibit similar symptoms.

People with heart disease may experience not only sweating on the head but also significant sweating on the chest. This is due to impaired heart function, which stimulates the secretion of sweat glands in the chest, leading to sweating. For men experiencing frequent sweating on the head and chest, along with chest pain and tightness, it is essential to monitor potential signs of heart weakness.

Similarly, men with tumors in their bodies may experience extreme weakness due to tumor stimuli, leading to sweating concentrated on the head, weight loss, and overall body weakness.

Some believe that sweating is the body’s way of detoxifying. However, abnormal sweating in summer indicates more than just detoxification. Sweating is not only a form of self-regulation; it may also hide underlying issues. Every man fears being “weak,” but whether one is weak is not determined by others but by one’s own actions. To become stronger, one must continually adjust personal habits, reject excessive fatigue, late nights, smoking, and alcohol consumption for the body to gradually improve.
