“Is it possible to get this illness at such a young age?” A man’s hidden struggles may have quietly set their sights on you.

Must read

“I always thought, being this young, how could I have this issue?”

“It’s embarrassing to tell others about these problems, hoping it will just go away if I endure it…”

“I’ve been to many hospitals, wasted a lot of money, and I still don’t know what to do…”

Prostatitis, a silent suffering that troubles many men, let’s take a closer look today!

Pay attention to these symptoms

Be careful, prostatitis might be targeting you

Prostatitis refers to inflammation of the prostate caused by infection from pathogens and/or irritation from certain non-infectious factors, mainly presenting in two aspects:

Urethral irritation symptoms: frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, abnormal urination, and “dribbling” from the urethra.

Localized discomfort symptoms: symptoms may include **aching, a feeling of heaviness in the testicles, aching in the lower abdomen and groin area,** and a burning sensation.

Prostatitis

Why are young people so “favored”?

The prostate is the largest accessory gland in men. The young and middle-aged period is a peak time for acute and chronic prostatitis, primarily for two reasons:

On one hand, there are poor lifestyle habits. The young and middle-aged period is when male sexual function is at its peak; irregular sexual life, abstinence or indulgence, prolonged sitting, and alcohol consumption can lead to prostate congestion and trigger inflammation. Additionally, smoking can also easily induce prostatitis.

On the other hand, this age group is also when prostate secretion is most vigorous, providing favorable conditions for bacterial growth and reproduction. If personal hygiene is neglected, the body’s resistance is low, or there are infections in nearby areas (like the urethra), pathogens can enter the prostate, leading to acute or chronic inflammation.

Is prostatitis a sexually transmitted disease?

Can it be transmitted?

The vast majority of prostatitis cases do not fall into the category of sexually transmitted diseases and cannot be transmitted to sexual partners. Many chronic prostatitis patients do not have a pathogenic infection, making sexual transmission or STDs irrelevant.

However, there are exceptions. A few prostatitis cases are caused by infections from Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Trichomonas, or fungi, clinically referred to as specific prostatitis, which should be classified as a sexually transmitted disease. They may be transmitted to female partners during sexual intercourse, causing various **inflammations.

This type of prostatitis should avoid sexual activity in the early stages of treatment. The female partner should also visit a gynecology or dermatology clinic for testing, and if she is also infected, both partners should take medication simultaneously.

To improve men’s prostate health

Director Wang also reminds that prostatitis is like a “cold,” just a “common disease” in a “special area,” which can be cured, but is also prone to recurrence, hence timely treatment is necessary.
