Latest Research: In addition to damaging the lungs, the novel coronavirus will also harm the “function” of males.

The emergence of a novel coronavirus epidemic has completely disrupted our previously peaceful lives. Since the end of last year, our lives have been shrouded in the shadow of the novel coronavirus. It may have initially spread only within Wuhan, but with the significant population movement, the virus quickly spread nationwide. As a result, the lively and joyous Spring Festival had to become desolate, with rarely any vehicles on congested roads. Due to the virus’s transmission capabilities during the incubation period and its mutation ways, people were afraid to leave their homes. Although this was not the first time the nation fought against an epidemic, this virus is entirely different from SARS, with a far greater infectivity.

Fortunately, through the efforts of tens of thousands of medical staff and the public’s consciousness, China’s COVID-19 epidemic has gradually been effectively controlled. The daily number of new cases continues to decrease. Consequently, more and more people are venturing outdoors, and businesses are gradually resuming operations. However, people still wear masks when going out, partly because the epidemic has not completely disappeared and also because infection can cause significant harm to the body. Despite the epidemic being controlled, research on the novel coronavirus continues.

Since the emergence of the novel coronavirus, research on it has been ongoing without interruption. Consequently, the understanding of the virus has become more comprehensive than ever. The first aspect to understand is its mode of transmission, crucial for effective prevention measures. The most common transmission routes are respiratory droplets and contact. Another important aspect is recognizing the early symptoms of infection to promptly isolate cases, prevent further spread, and facilitate treatment. Research shows that early symptoms mainly include fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath. Therefore, many checkpoints use body temperature as a criterion, significantly identifying numerous infected individuals.

Damage of Novel Coronavirus to the Human Body:

In the early stages of research, it was evident that the novel coronavirus primarily damages the lungs. Due to its airborne transmission, it directly targets the lungs. When the body is invaded by the virus, fever and cough readily occur as natural responses to clear the virus. However, the virus’s strong binding ability leads to prolonged lung damage if left untreated, eventually resulting in respiratory failure. Recent studies have shown that the novel coronavirus damage is not confined to the lungs.

Comprehensive screenings of nearly a hundred male patients revealed that the novel coronavirus can spread within the body. While initially attacking only the lungs, over time, it can easily shift its targets and cause damage to the testes in males. This can disrupt the secretion of hormones like testosterone and follicle-stimulating hormone, affecting multiple reproductive organs such as the vas deferens and urinary system, potentially leading to reproductive dysfunction in males. Not all infected males will experience these issues, with mild patients generally unaffected, while some middle-aged patients may and most severe cases likely will. Hence, it is crucial to stay vigilant and get checked promptly if symptoms of infection arise to minimize bodily damage.
