Must read

In the field of men’s health, genital warts are a common sexually transmitted disease, and its incidence cannot be ignored. In order to help male friends better understand and cope with this disease, we have specially invited Dr. Cao Jiali, a third-level dermatology expert from Beijing Chaoyang Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, to comprehensively analyze the symptoms and related knowledge of male genital warts.

Dr. Cao Jiali, as an authoritative expert in the field of dermatology, has not only accumulated over twenty years of rich experience in clinical work but also actively participates in academic research and exchanges. He is a member of the Youth Committee of the Dermatology Branch of the Beijing Medical Association, a member of the Skin Disease Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Chinese Rehabilitation Medical Association, and a member of the Dermatological Surgery and Cosmetic Branch of the Chinese Leprosy Prevention and Treatment Association. Through personalized diagnosis and treatment methods, he has successfully helped tens of thousands of patients recover and has received high praise from patients.

Regarding male genital warts, Dr. Cao Jiali pointed out that the disease is mainly caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and is common in the genital and perianal areas. In the early stages, patients may have no obvious symptoms, but as the condition progresses, a series of typical symptoms may appear.

Firstly, the typical skin lesions of genital warts are single or multiple scattered pale red papules, with a soft texture, sharp tips, gradually increasing in number and size, and can present in forms such as papillary, cauliflower-like, cock’s comb-like, etc. These skin lesions are prone to erosion on the surface, with exudation, maceration, and ulceration, which may be complicated by bleeding and infection.

Secondly, male genital warts are prone to occur on the foreskin, frenulum, coronal sulcus, glans penis, urethral meatus, penile body, perianal area, rectum, and scrotum, among other parts. The morphologies of skin lesions in different locations may vary slightly, but all have a certain degree of infectivity.

Dr. Cao Jiali emphasizes that the symptoms of genital warts may vary due to individual differences, and some patients may experience symptoms such as foreign body sensation, burning, itching, or discomfort during sexual intercourse. Therefore, when male friends discover abnormal skin lesions in the genital or perianal area, they should seek medical attention promptly for professional examination and treatment.

In terms of treatment, Dr. Cao Jiali stated that there are various treatment methods for genital warts, including drug therapy, physical therapy, surgical treatment, etc. The specific treatment plan should be determined based on factors such as the patient’s condition, the size, location, and number of warts. He reminds patients to follow medical advice, actively cooperate with treatment, and maintain good lifestyle habits and sexual hygiene to reduce the risk of recurrence.

Finally, Dr. Cao Jiali calls on male friends to pay attention to their own health, enhance preventive awareness, avoid unprotected sexual behaviors, and work together to maintain sexual health and public health safety.
