Men who want to live longer should try to avoid these small habits; changing even one might lead to better health.
Since the existence of humanity, the world has never ceased to explore methods for longevity, from the time of Emperor Qin Shi Huang to the present day. During the feudal period, due to low living standards, many people often faced hunger, resulting in prolonged malnutrition. At that time, lifespans were relatively short; living to 60 years old was considered quite remarkable, let alone reaching 80. Nowadays, despite significant improvements in living conditions and healthcare, people’s lifespans have generally increased considerably.
Many factors determine lifespan, starting with genetic factors, as well as physical fitness and lifestyle habits over time. Additionally, gender plays a role; statistical comparisons in recent years show that the number of long-lived elderly women far exceeds that of men. This is related to men’s living conditions, as they face more life pressures and tend to have more bad habits, many of which often go unnoticed. Therefore, today we would like to remind all men.
Men who want to live longer should try to avoid these small habits; doing less of one might lead to better health.
1. Not shaving
Facial hair can be seen as a signature characteristic of men, as abundant secretion of male hormones stimulates its growth. Many men also regard their beards as a symbol of masculinity and intentionally refrain from shaving. However, studies show that those who shave regularly tend to live longer than those who do not, as beards can easily harbor bacteria and introduce harm to the body through the skin or other means. Therefore, men should strive to shave regularly.
2. Constant smoking and drinking
From a young age, we are taught that smoking can harm the body; however, this has ironically increased the interest in smoking among many people. Moreover, many men often engage in social gatherings where drinking is a way to strengthen relationships. Smoking and drinking can significantly harm men’s bodies; smoking damages the lungs and respiratory system, while drinking harms the stomach and liver and accelerates kidney aging. Therefore, we hope that all men can resist the temptations of smoking and drinking.
3. Skipping breakfast
More and more people now consider staying up late as normal, falling into a vicious cycle of sleepless nights and difficulty waking up in the morning. To gain a bit more sleep time, they simply skip breakfast. However, this not only harms the digestive system but can also lead to malnutrition and low blood sugar over time. Therefore, it is recommended that men try to sleep early and rise early, maintain a breakfast routine, and take care of their digestive health to improve their overall well-being.
4. Pushing through illness
Men rarely pay attention to their health and seldom undergo regular check-ups. Even when symptoms arise, they tend to rely on their immune systems and tough it out. However, this approach can allow symptoms to worsen undetected. Therefore, it is advised that men seek medical attention promptly when symptoms occur.
