From a health perspective, specific groups need to be extra cautious while enjoying mooncakes: – Patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia should limit their intake of mooncakes as the high salt and oil content may exacerbate the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. – Individuals with gastric discomfort or stomach ulcers should be cautious as excessive consumption of mooncakes may increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract. It is recommended that these individuals consume only a small piece of mooncake for breakfast daily, accompanied by milk and eggs to promote nutritional balance. – For those with liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic diseases, the hard fillings in mooncakes may trigger varicose vein rupture or even induce the recurrence of cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Therefore, the consumption of mooncakes should also be controlled to avoid increasing the metabolic pressure on the liver.
