Precautions for moxibustion during the dog days:
1. Do not use air conditioning in the room during moxibustion.
2. Drink water to stay hydrated before moxibustion, avoid excessive fullness before moxibustion, it’s best to start moxibustion 1 hour after eating.
3. Keep a calm mind during moxibustion, drink warm water, facilitate detoxification.
4. If moisture appears around acupoints during moxibustion, it indicates the expulsion of internal cold pathogens.
5. Do not expose the body to cold water within three hours after moxibustion to prevent catching cold.
6. It’s better to wait a few hours after moxibustion before taking a bath.
7. If you feel tired and fatigued after moxibustion, it’s normal. At this time, the body is recuperating, drink some ginger jujube water, take a rest, and avoid overexertion.
