Gout “enemies” have been discovered, eat more of these 2 foods, easily reduce uric acid, and avoid kidney disease

Must read

Gout is a disease, and it is not uncommon for people to suffer from gout in today’s society. There are also friends around me who have gout. Gout does not discriminate by age or gender. People of any age or gender may suffer from gout. However, according to records, the ratio of men to women among those who have gout is as high as ten to one, which means that ninety percent of gout sufferers out of a hundred are male. Why are there so many male sufferers?

First, let’s understand what gout is. Gout is mostly due to a lack of attention to diet in daily life, resulting in an excessive amount of uric acid in the body, leading to hyperuricemia. When uric acid crystallizes into sodium salts and accumulates in our joints, cartilage, and other areas, the body experiences pain. If you want to avoid developing gout, you need to adjust your dietary habits promptly.

The “archenemy” of gout has been discovered, eating more of two types of food can easily lower uric acid levels and prevent kidney disease.

The intake of fatty substances can raise blood lipids, the intake of sugars can raise blood sugar levels, and the intake of salt can raise blood lipids. So, what substance is the “culprit” for high uric acid? The answer is purine. If the body consumes a large amount of high-purine foods, the risk of developing hyperuricemia increases. Therefore, to maintain a balance in uric acid levels in the body, the intake of high-purine foods should be reduced.

1. Braised tofu

Soybeans are a type of high-purine food, not recommended for people with gout to consume. However, tofu is different. It is a food made from processed soybeans, with some purines in soybeans being degraded during the production process. Therefore, people with gout can consume tofu in moderation. Besides tofu, foods like soy milk, tofu skin, etc., can be consumed in moderation. According to data records, the purine content in tofu is only about half of what is originally found in soybeans, and tofu contains many essential nutrients.

2. Yellowfin tuna sashimi

In people’s perception, or as often heard from people around, those with gout should consume less fish, as fish contain a considerable amount of purine, which is not conducive to controlling the condition of gout. Activities like having grilled fish with beer at night are particularly prohibited for gout patients. Indeed, most fish and shellfish products often contain significant purine levels and should not be consumed in large quantities by gout patients. However, yellowfin tuna is an exception, being a food with moderate purine content and containing many saturated fatty acids. Regular consumption can reduce blood lipids, help prevent atherosclerosis, and protect cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.
