When we talk about love in a bar

During our many years in the psychology industry, we have always been professional and sincere in our interactions with others, striving to provide the best service possible. It is also out of a reverence for the science of psychology that we uphold our own principles and boundaries, aiming to present psychology to everyone in a more professional and effective manner.

However, due to the lack of widespread understanding of psychology and psychological counseling in the country, many people have some misconceptions about this discipline, holding the thought that “only those with mental illnesses choose to seek psychological counseling.” At times, we feel helpless.

In reality, psychological counseling is aimed at addressing all forms of psychological distress, analyzing emotional issues arising from various difficulties in life from a psychological perspective.

Considering this, we feel that popularizing the concepts of psychology and psychological counseling in the market is important, but we have also taken into account that direct “theory cramming” may not yield good results. Therefore, we have decided to get more down-to-earth!

As the Qixi Festival approached, we came up with an idea – why not discuss the psychology of love in an environment that naturally evokes relaxation?

Such as a bar?

This way, participants will feel more relaxed, and perhaps engage in more conversations.

Away from dry theories and traditional classroom settings, we decided to use a seminar format to casually convey some psychology related to intimate relationships to everyone.

After reaching a cooperation agreement with a suitable bar, Bar Defender, we began promoting the event. To our surprise, many people showed interest in this activity, with a wide range of ages.

Ultimately, 16 people attended the event!

At the beginning of the event, Teacher Zhang Xin used the “snowball rolling” game to get everyone into a familiar state. Following that, the bartender introduced some love-related cocktails and invited everyone to taste them. The event then transitioned into the core phase, with Teacher Zhang guiding everyone to express their thoughts on love for further discussion.

We initially planned for the event to last two hours, but everyone’s enthusiasm extended it to over four hours. We were very happy because this far exceeded our expectations, with many people willing to analyze their emotional lives through psychology, indicating a growing willingness to believe in science and to continue learning and growing.

The successful hosting of this event has given us great confidence and motivation. In the future, we will also organize more relaxed offline activities, bringing psychology to everyone in a more everyday form. Stay tuned.
