On the occasion of the 14th “International Self-care Day,” the first “Yangtze River Delta Pharmaceutical and Health Entrepreneur First Cooperation Forum” with the theme of “Self-care” was held at the Muse Sleep Hotel in Qingpu District, Shanghai on the afternoon of July 21, 2024. 120 industry elites attended the meeting, marking the beginning of the “International Self-care Day” service month.
Since 2011, the World Health Organization has designated July 24th of each year as “International Self-care Day,” a global health commemoration day advocating for global citizens to focus on self-care and family health 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This day aims to raise global awareness and importance of self-care, promote self-care knowledge worldwide, and enhance people’s health literacy.
On May 11, 2017, the National Health and Family Planning Commission’s National Health and Health Letter [2017] No. 2 approved and supported the activities of “International Self-care Day.” On July 14, 2017, China’s first “Self-care Alliance” was established.
Since its inception in 1995, the “Self-care” magazine has been distributed nationwide. As a reading material for the “China Family Health Improvement Program,” it has always promoted the concept of “self-care” and actively facilitated exchanges, innovations, collaborations, and mutually beneficial development among pharmaceutical and health enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region, jointly building an “innovative service platform for self-care industry.”

Based on the innovative development of pharmaceutical and health in the Yangtze River Delta, this forum discussed the new trends in health lifestyle consumer demands. Sheng Hui, director of the China Aging Foundation, first delivered a speech on the “Integration Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Training, Self-care, and Health Preservation Culture,” providing new insights into the modern application of traditional Chinese medicine. Professor Feng Liang from the Shanghai Food Culture Research Society focused on the theme of “Nutrition and Food from the Same Source,” emphasizing the importance of a healthy diet. Wang Yuejian from Muse Sleep Hotel, Shao Jingjing from Tongji Biology, Tian Na from Dong Hang Guo Lu, Xu Beilu from “Taste of China • Healthy Living Tour,” Qiu Shaohua from Ju Yanghuanxin, and others engaged in in-depth discussions on hot topics of interest to everyone. This forum not only brought rich industry knowledge and cutting-edge ideas to participants but also inspired them to consider the development of the health industry in conjunction with societal health needs, providing valuable insights for future collaborations.

In the roadshow session of this forum, multiple companies showcased their industry styles and innovative capabilities: Qingzhi Health Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. provided a new choice for the health of the nervous system with its unique “Brain Neuroacids”; Shanghai Shanxianghui Food Co., Ltd. is dedicated to providing community nutritious and diverse-tasting meals, allowing consumers to enjoy healthy and delicious food; Shanghai Qiangge Trading Co., Ltd. combines traditional and modern techniques to introduce “Taizi Huang” health-preserving wine, integrating traditional Huang wine culture with modern health concepts for a new health experience for consumers; Shanghai Yijiu Culture Media Co., Ltd. launched the An Ji Kangyang Base project which combines natural scenery with the concept of health preservation, providing consumers with an ideal place to relax and pursue a healthy lifestyle. In the field of health technology, Shanghai Pengxinxin Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s Hongkang negative oxygen ion machine has attracted attention by creating a healthful environment full of negative oxygen ions using advanced technology, helping improve respiratory health. Additionally, the “Golden Water Active Hydrogen Mineral Water” from Shanghai Yuyi Health Management Co., Ltd., generated interest through its unique water production technology, offering consumers a choice for drinking water.

The roundtable discussion section of the forum focused on the role of communities and associations in the industry’s development. Attendees expressed that communities and associations, as vital bridges connecting enterprises and consumers, play an indispensable role in driving industrial development.
