On the occasion of the 14th “International Self-care Day,” the first “Yangtze River Delta Pharmaceutical and Health Entrepreneur First Cooperation Forum” with the theme of “Self-care” was held at the Muse Sleep Hotel in Qingpu District, Shanghai on the afternoon of July 21, 2024. 120 industry elites attended the meeting, marking the beginning of the “International Self-care Day” service month.
Since 2011, the World Health Organization has designated July 24th of each year as “International Self-care Day,” a global health commemoration day advocating for global citizens to focus on self-care and family health 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This day aims to raise global awareness and importance of self-care, promote self-care knowledge worldwide, and enhance people’s health literacy.
On May 11, 2017, the National Health and Family Planning Commission’s National Health and Health Letter [2017] No. 2 approved and supported the activities of “International Self-care Day.” On July 14, 2017, China’s first “Self-care Alliance” was established.
Since its inception in 1995, the “Self-care” magazine has been distributed nationwide. As a reading material for the “China Family Health Improvement Program,” it has always promoted the concept of “self-care” and actively facilitated exchanges, innovations, collaborations, and mutually beneficial development among pharmaceutical and health enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region, jointly building an “innovative service platform for self-care industry.”

Based on the innovative development of pharmaceutical and health in the Yangtze River Delta, this forum discussed the new trends in health lifestyle consumer demands. Sheng Hui, director of the China Aging Foundation, first delivered a speech on the “Integration Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Training, Self-care, and Health Preservation Culture,” providing new insights into the modern application of traditional Chinese medicine.
