Lecture
Session
This lecture was given by Chen Ling, a lecturer from the Little Gold Elf Popular Science Lecturer team. With her rich professional knowledge and vivid explanation style, she revealed the complexity of cognitive impairment to the community residents. Cognitive impairment not only affects memory and learning ability but may also be accompanied by complex symptoms such as aphasia, apraxia, and agnosia, severely affecting the quality of life of the elderly; brain structural damage, especially hippocampal atrophy, plays a crucial role in the occurrence and development of cognitive impairment; early signals of cognitive impairment include emotional disturbances, social withdrawal, and impulsive behavior.
Non-drug interventions for cognitive impairment include: moderate exercise such as walking, jogging, and tai chi; playing the 24-point game to exercise logical thinking and memory through mathematical games; participating in community activities, etc. These measures not only help reduce the risk of cognitive impairment but also help the elderly create a more harmonious social environment, enjoy a healthier and higher quality of late life.
Health
Consultation
In addition to the rich content of popular science lectures, the Little Gold Elf team, in collaboration with the medical staff of the community health service center in Langxia Town, set up psychological health counseling services and Traditional Chinese Medicine health consultation services for the community residents. By leveraging professional expertise, quality services are brought to the doorstep of the community residents, enabling them to enjoy more convenient and personalized health guidance.
We believe that through the joint efforts of various sectors of society, we can build a healthier and more harmonious living environment for the elderly, enabling them to maintain mental vitality and independence while enjoying late-life, creating a happier and more fulfilling late-life period.
