Many people may think that depression is a disease that only affects the privileged or successful people. However, relevant data has shown that there are millions of depression patients in our country, meaning that there could be depression patients around us.

If mild depressive emotions trouble you, besides having thoughts of despair, you may also observe the following signs from time to time, hoping you have none.

Having mild depressive emotions may manifest in 6 signs, it’s worth self-checking, hopefully, you don’t have any:

Sluggish thinking

When experiencing mild depressive emotions, it often affects one’s cognitive abilities and the patient’s thought process may be impacted during the onset. If you were previously very responsive but now experience sluggish thinking after having mild depressive emotions, it may take you a while to understand what others are trying to convey.

They may also have difficulty organizing their thoughts coherently and conveying their ideas correctly to others. So, if you notice this significant change in yourself for a period of time, don’t ignore it, it could be the depressive emotions at play.

Feeling low

In our daily work and life, we interact with various people and may encounter unpleasant situations. Occasional negativity is not a big problem, but when such feelings linger, it’s important to communicate actively, seek help from others, and learn self-encouragement.

However, if you find yourself in a prolonged state of negativity, unable to find joy even in things that interested you before, feeling time passing slowly, having a sense of days dragging on, these unusual changes could also be signs of mild depression at play, so don’t take it lightly.

Self-denial

For those who struggle with mild depressive emotions for a long time, they may also experience significant feelings of low self-esteem.

As depression progresses, it often accompanies feelings of pessimism, negativity, and a loss of self-confidence, gradually breaking down the spirit. Many may feel their existence is pointless, causing trouble for others, eventually leading to suicidal thoughts and behaviors, significantly impacting life and health.

Decline in memory

If you usually have good memory, able to remember events from a long time ago, it may indicate a healthy psyche.

Conversely, if you notice a significant decline in memory within a period, forgetting recent events entirely, being absent-minded regularly such as forgetting to lock the door or important things, it’s likely that something is amiss, so don’t take it lightly.

Decreased will activity

During the onset of depression, patients may also experience a decrease in will activity, mainly characterized by a lack of interest in surrounding matters, a sense of hopelessness in life, and reluctance to socialize, distancing themselves from family and friends.

Encountering challenging situations may lead to emotional outbursts easily. These abnormal behaviors serve as signals of decreased will activity, if this doesn’t apply to you, then your mental state is likely fine.

Insomnia

In recent years, with the improvement in living standards, people are facing greater pressure, resulting in insomnia becoming a common issue due to the intense pressure. Additionally, depressive emotions can also lead to insomnia.

Because these negative emotions affect the nervous system, leading to nervous tension, which may eventually trigger insomnia or other sleep disorders and complications.
