Must read

When it comes to depression, people often think of the deaths of some celebrities, which is a rather sad topic. However, it also allows people to further understand depression. Although it may not cause visible harm to the body like some serious illnesses, it inflicts significant damage on people’s physical and mental health, not less than the damage caused by physical ailments.

Depression is also a type of mental issue. Once one is afflicted, there are significant changes in their mental state, which may lead to extreme reactions causing harm to the body, and in severe cases, it may endanger one’s life, leading to situations of departure. The population currently suffering from depression is continuously increasing, and many individuals may already be depressed without realizing it. So, why not do a self-test? Depressed individuals often repeat certain phrases, and if you find yourself doing the same, it requires attention.

What do people with depression often say?

Individuals with depression tend to be more self-deprecating. They often live in high-pressure environments, and the pressure in today’s society is quite significant, keeping people’s nerves constantly tense, hence their self-deprecation. For instance, in a team, if a project doesn’t go through or faces issues, normal individuals might complain about excessive client demands or blame others. However, individuals in this category frequently say things like: “It’s all my fault, I’ve let everyone down, I’m useless.”

In reality, individuals suffering from depression are often sensitive and fragile. They self-loathe, attributing all problems to themselves, even when the problems are not directly related to them. It’s their inner thoughts that make them feel responsible, burdening others.

In their daily lives, depressed individuals often experience a sense of powerlessness, losing interest in everything. While performing tasks, they might say: “I feel doing these things is meaningless, I don’t want to do them.” They lose interest even in things they once loved, preferring to be alone and avoid any activity.

When mistakes occur in life, they tend to take the blame, saying: “It’s all my fault, that’s why this happened.” Even though these issues may not be their fault, they feel otherwise and willingly shoulder the responsibility out of fear of being criticized. Such thoughts only burden them further, exacerbating physical discomfort.

The most serious statement is: “I feel life is meaningless.” If they reach such a point, it indicates severe depression, requiring close attention from family as they might consider drastic actions at any moment when these thoughts arise and act on them immediately and extremely, leading to unexpected outcomes.

Hence, a reminder to all: If you or your friends frequently utter these statements, it requires attention as it could be a precursor to impending depression. It is necessary to examine and take corresponding remedial measures. Show more understanding towards these individuals, make them feel warmth, engage in activities they are interested in, and excel at to boost their confidence. In today’s oppressive society, the number of depressed individuals is increasing, so it is essential to understand self-relief, self-regulation, and prevent depression.
