Depression is also a form of depression, mostly associated with emotional stagnation in individuals. In real life, people’s stress is increasing day by day, but the ways to relieve stress are very limited. Many people don’t even have time to release their stress because stress constantly surrounds them. People who often feel stressed will gradually undergo emotional changes, which may occur unknowingly but suddenly erupt at one point in time, plunging them into an inescapable depression.
The reasons why everyone falls into depression are varied – some may experience it due to a breakup, while others may have embedded the seeds of depression in their childhood. The sudden departure of family or friends leading to excessive grief and anger could also be a contributing factor. Although the reasons differ, the expressions that arise after experiencing depression are generally consistent. By observing these expressions that occur in the body, one can determine whether they are already experiencing depression.
How do people with depression behave?
People with depression lack a sense of security, and due to this lack of security, they each seek security in different ways. Some may resort to continuous drinking to find security through alcohol consumption. Many others prefer to find security through solitude and by curling up in a corner, as large empty spaces may trigger panic or even anxiety, while small rooms or spaces make them feel secure.
The verbal abnormalities of people with depression are often evident – their speech mostly reflects feelings of inferiority, low spirits, or disappointment towards people and events around them. Common phrases like “managed to get through another day,” “I can be sad but can’t make others sad,” “why am I awake again,” “have to face strangers again,” “where is the meaning of being alive” are frequently heard, indicating that they might already be experiencing mild depression without realizing it.
People with depression exhibit indifference towards everything and everyone around them, lacking interest. On one hand, due to mental depression inhibiting physical functions and making limbs weak, leading to exhaustion, they lack the energy to deal with people and events in reality, thus losing interest and sinking into desolation and despair. On the other hand, this is also related to the absence of a sense of purpose, as feelings of inferiority and a lack of life goals may lead to a sense of numbness towards life, leading to a withdrawal from social interactions and a natural loss of interest in everything in life.
Suicidal thoughts are often an early indication for many depressed individuals. Initially, fleeting thoughts of leaving may arise due to sudden events, but fear of pain and the unknown after death prevent them from taking action. However, as depression worsens over time, they might consider converting thoughts into actions, and self-harm may become a norm as feelings of pain remind them of their existence. Eventually, suicidal tendencies may manifest in their behavior as they seek to end their lives.
Depression originates from emotional stagnation, and various bodily signals revolve around emotional stagnation before gradually spreading to physical manifestations. Addressing this issue should start at its core, fostering a positive outlook on life, cultivating consistent hobbies, finding like-minded friends, all of which help disperse emotional stagnation and make life more fulfilling.
