My Separation Anxiety Story

I am a 16-year-old student who has just transitioned from junior high to high school. I thought I could adapt to the new environment smoothly, but I found myself becoming more and more afraid to leave home and my parents. Every time I have to leave home for school or travel, I feel extreme unease and fear that is unbearable. Later, I was diagnosed with separation anxiety disorder and began long-term psychological treatment.

At the beginning of treatment, I felt very scared and uncomfortable. I needed to tell strangers about my deepest fears and anxieties, and sometimes I had to do uncomfortable exercises. During the treatment, I am very grateful for the support and understanding from my family. They have been by my side, willing to listen to my inner pain and anxiety, and tried to create a comfortable environment for me to feel at ease. They also helped me take notes during my treatment process, recording the psychological exercises and feelings I needed to do, so I could better understand my situation and control my emotions.
