Teacher Wang Jing’s “Gestalt Trauma Therapy” ended perfectly | Mandala Psychology

Must read

I once fell into hell, when I return, I will definitely take others with me!

——Wang Jing

A person’s life is a process of growing from a seed into a towering tree. In this life experience, everyone has experienced trauma to a greater or lesser extent, facing trauma may require great courage.

During this trauma treatment course led by Teacher Wang Jing, everyone delves deeply into understanding the essence and causes of psychological trauma…

Teacher Wang Jing said: “Trauma” is a very important part. We may not be able to perfectly deal with the trauma experienced by ourselves or our loved ones, but we need to know how to identify trauma and make the right response in a timely manner.

Everyone has different understandings and ideas about trauma.

For the participants of this course, what kind of thoughts do they have?

Have you ever listened to a course at double speed?

I have, I speed up all online courses, starting at 1.5x speed.

Have you ever listened to a live version of a course at double speed?

This question should have been asked a week ago, I would definitely have said no, except for China’s Prince of Hosting, who can speak so fast and smoothly.

But after a weekend passed, who would have thought that my world became a bit more complete.

The main lecturer of the Gestalt therapy, Wang Jing, is a teacher who speaks at double speed, not only that, she also brings her own sound effects, a charming and charismatic wave woman (I wasn’t kidnapped).

Her speech speed is always so fast, from knowledge content to practical cases, she can talk about many things in one breath, yet there are no flaws or loopholes, no grammar errors to be picky about. She always laughs so openly, so freely, that even while writing this share, I can re-experience her laughter.

This is a two-day trauma course, given Teacher Wang’s speed, she indeed provides ample knowledge content. And with her extensive work experience, just a turn of her big eyes, a new “story” related to the knowledge points emerges.

This course is not only enjoyable to listen to, but also enjoyable to watch!

Originally, a course on trauma would have felt quite gloomy, but with Teacher Wang and the support of my fellow classmates, the energy of the whole class unexpectedly felt abundant.

Full of gains, the energy wasn’t drained much, it’s just… the knowledge content is so substantial that sometimes it takes time to digest.

Remember to notify me for the next class, I think, I should still sign up! Haha!

【Day 1】

In the morning, there was only one case that made me feel very distressed, quietly shedding tears! But by noon, it had side effects, heartache, heart-wrenching pain, hiding in the stairwell alone, crying!

Not long after starting the afternoon session, I was triggered again, directly leaving the crowd, hiding to calm my emotions!

On the way home after class, it perfectly matched the trauma drawing I made in the morning class, walking home in the rain, feeling the rain hitting my head, clothes, and skin, smelling the scent of soil!

I ate fried chicken, to avoid thinking, I started watching “Rap of China”, but with one clear rap, tears instantly welled up, uncontrollably, the heartache increasing, to stop the tears, pressing the eyes with tissue, the tears could only flow into the heart!

What do the tears want to tell me after all? Actually, I’m not sure, just like the teacher said today, there are things the body won’t forget!

Fear! I am really scared to go to class tomorrow!

【Day 2】

I started to contemplate,

What is sadness?

It’s when there’s a scar,

and you poke at the wound.

What is heartache?

It’s when it’s bleeding,

and you slowly tear open the wound.

What is despair?

It’s not sadness or heartache,

but watching it bleed, and you smile!

Eating, watching variety shows,

I suddenly started crying for no reason

Body, please don’t hurt anymore

Tears, please don’t flow anymore!

Now I live with courage

I don’t know what the future holds

I don’t know how long life is

Starting from now

I will live on my own,

Live my life!

From the last Gestalt insight and experiential workshop by Teacher Hao Bin, I first felt the charm of Gestalt therapy, so for this course on trauma by Teacher Wang Jing, I had many expectations.

This course is spread over two days, seeing the course outline, I knew these two days wouldn’t be lacking in content, indeed, after the first day, I had a question:

So much material, can I digest it all?

Especially as a novice in Gestalt, after finishing the second day, I felt particularly full, I only remember writing a lot throughout the entire class amid the joyous atmosphere, as for what I wrote, I’m still a bit clueless, haha!

But on the way home later, while walking, I thought about my case, and suddenly had a magical feeling, it was that breakthrough feeling, the approach to this case became clear all of a sudden, in my mind many experiences shared by Teacher Wang Jing during the course about counselling, I seemed to have internalized these experiences into my own thoughts, so miraculous!

Teacher Wang Jing’s unique personal charm and teaching style also attracted me a lot, especially her compassion for visitors that moved me to tears several times, one phrase I remember very clearly: Everything revolves around the well-being of the visitors.

This phrase is the core principle of counseling. Trauma is a quite heavy topic, but Teacher Wang Jing can make this course so vivid and energetic, admirable!

The Northwest Gestalt Therapy Continuous Training Project Team and Mandalay Psychological prepared a course gift for everyone—a cup.

As Teacher Wang Jing said:

In the face of the uncertainties of life, it can be an “unpleasant surprise,” or it can be a container. Your life, you decide!
