Sitting the month is to have a period for a month

Must read

The puerperium is a special time for women, filled with both joy and challenges. They welcome the birth of new life and enter a new stage of life, often accompanied by many uncertainties, such as “Does confinement period mean there will be a month of menstrual-like bleeding?” Let’s answer these questions one by one.

Postpartum menstruation recovery is a natural physiological process, but the specific time varies from person to person. Some mothers may resume menstruation after the baby turns one month old, while others may wait until the baby is one year old. Medically speaking, around 33-42 days after childbirth, the ovaries may begin ovulating, and the presence of the corpus luteum can even be observed as early as 6 weeks postpartum. However, determining the exact time of the first postpartum menstruation can sometimes be difficult, as some mothers may experience slight intermittent bleeding immediately after delivery.

For breastfeeding mothers, ovulation and menstruation recovery are relatively delayed, sometimes lasting up to a year. The first period after childbirth is often heavier, but subsequently tends to normalize without the need for specific treatment.

During the confinement period, personal hygiene is particularly important. It is recommended to clean the external genitalia with warm water daily, and maintain cleanliness and dryness in the perineal area, as lochia, postpartum vaginal discharge, typically stops naturally around 4 to 6 weeks postpartum. Showering and washing hair can be done around one week after delivery, avoiding baths to prevent infection, which can be replaced with showers after 6 weeks. Adequate ventilation indoors is necessary, avoiding excessively high or fluctuating room temperatures. Keeping doors and windows completely closed is not advisable, especially in hot summers, as it can lead to risks of heatstroke.

In conclusion, women during the puerperium period need to understand and take appropriate measures to ensure physical recovery and health during this time. Preparing for possible situations during the confinement period can effectively reduce panic and confusion. Therefore, it is advisable for women to learn more about relevant knowledge before confinement to better navigate through this important period.
