Recently, Mr. Tian from Harbin, Heilongjiang has gained considerable attention from numerous netizens due to his motivational weight loss videos. Over the course of a year, Mr. Tian has climbed 30,000 steps and adopted methods that suit him to successfully reduce his weight from 205 pounds to 135 pounds, transforming from a chubby guy with a big belly into a fit man with six-pack abs. “From losing weight to getting fit, my quality of life has significantly improved, and I have gone from being looked down upon by my daughter to becoming her pride,” Mr. Tian happily said during an interview with Yangtze Evening News/Ziniu News.
Father’s Weight Loss Journey
From 205 pounds to 135 pounds, over 300 videos document the entire process.
According to a search by Yangtze Evening News/Ziniu News reporters, Mr. Tian Jixin, who is 33 years old, has published 328 video works on his short video account under the username “Big Belly Tian Tian.” Among them, a video titled “Don’t Blink, I Will Only Change Once” uses a before-and-after comparison of two photos to document his transformation from “Big Belly Dad” to “Touching Six-Pack Abs Dad,” garnering over 800,000 likes within just a few seconds.
In other videos, Mr. Tian provides a series of tutorials based on his own experience, such as “Fasting Stair Climbing Butt Stretching Tutorial,” “The Importance of Lifestyle-Based Fat Loss,” and “Should You Carbon Cycle During Fat Loss,” attracting many netizens to watch.
“I began scientifically losing weight in May 2023, losing 40 pounds in the first two months. After seeing results, I persisted and by May 2024, my weight dropped to 135 pounds, a total loss of 70 pounds.” Mr. Tian Jixin told Yangtze Evening News/Ziniu News reporters that he has maintained this weight since May and has not rebound after more than three months.
According to Mr. Tian, he is 180 cm tall and weighed 205 pounds at his heaviest, making him look very overweight. His big belly made him very self-conscious and even somewhat withdrawn, preferring to stay at home rather than go out.
“I initially worked in Shenzhen, and due to work demands, I often had to stay up late and eat late-night snacks, which gradually led to weight gain. My obesity also caused health issues,” Mr. Tian recalled, explaining that he later returned to his hometown of Harbin, changed jobs and lifestyle, and decided to take weight loss seriously.

Mr. Tian said he started consulting professional weight loss instructors and learned some scientific methods online, developing a plan that suited him, focusing on diet and exercise. Climbing stairs became his first step.
“I climb stairs only once a day, 30 minutes in the morning on an empty stomach. During the climbing process, I pay attention to my heart rate, strictly controlling it between 110 and 140,” Mr. Tian said, adding that he has been consistently stair climbing for over a year, every week.
