Weight loss has become
a new option for overweight children in Shenzhen this summer.
In a weight loss training camp in Longhua, Shenzhen, under the guidance of coaches, 91 students are vigorously exercising and sweating. Eleven-year-old Huang Zuxing has been in the weight loss camp for three days, during which he has successfully lost 3 catties, and his goal is to go from 140 catties to 100 catties.

Eleven-year-old Lu Kexin has reduced her weight from 54.3 kg to the current 49.6 kg in less than two weeks of training. She and Huang Zuxing both share the same problem, which is their love for high-calorie foods, causing them to have a hard time controlling their diets.

Generally, weight can be reduced by 8% to 15%.
The head of the base introduced that the weight loss camp offers classes for 28 days, 42 days, and 56 days, with fees covering all meals, accommodation, and training for students. In addition, for teenagers aged 7 to 18, classes are divided into small, medium, and large, with coaches provided at a ratio of 1:10.
The head of the training camp explained that the training plan for adolescent weight loss focuses on combining aerobic and anaerobic exercises, along with a balanced diet, to help children lose weight. Within a 28-day cycle, weight can generally be reduced by 8% to 15%.

60% of the training consists of aerobic exercises because minors are still in the process of growth, and their skeletal structure has not yet closed. We ensure the safety of students’ training by having 40% anaerobic exercises. In terms of strength training, we do not use equipment but focus on bodyweight exercises.
The head of the fitness training camp also mentioned that their camp follows a completely enclosed model integrating meals, accommodation, and training. Here, students not only avoid electronic products, but also control the intake of snacks and junk food.

A nutritionist reminds that while children may indeed lose weight in the short term at the weight loss camp, without continued control of energy intake and exercise at home, weight can easily rebound.
