Will the baby vomit because of catching a cold

Must read

During the baby’s growth process, especially when they are over two months old, due to the immature development of the gastric cardia, they may often spit up milk, which is a normal phenomenon, and parents need not worry too much. When facing this situation, it is recommended to breastfeed again about ten minutes after feeding, and make sure to burp the baby to avoid immediate laying down, reducing the occurrence of milk spitting up.

When the baby spits up due to getting cold, there are several measures to try: first, use warm items like a towel wrapped around a freshly boiled egg, gently place it on the baby’s abdomen to warm the stomach and relieve the milk spitting up caused by getting cold. Secondly, hold the baby upright and gently massage from the neck down to the stomach, which can help alleviate the symptoms of spitting up. In addition, provide the baby with warm and easily digestible food, such as well-cooked vegetables or thick millet porridge, to help warm the stomach and alleviate discomfort. Also, ensure the baby drinks enough warm water to maintain normal gastric secretion and reduce vomiting. However, if after taking these measures, the baby still spits up severely, or even spits out abnormal-colored liquid, accompanied by fever, diarrhea, and other symptoms, it is advisable to promptly take the baby to see a doctor for examination.

Spitting up milk may also be due to the baby’s incomplete gastric development, and slight movements or external stimuli can trigger milk spitting up. Therefore, it is a good habit to burp the baby after each feeding to reduce the chances of spitting up.

As for a four-month-old baby, if they get cold, their stomach may feel uncomfortable, and they may also experience spitting up, possibly accompanied by diarrhea, as getting the lower abdomen cold can easily affect the digestive system. Therefore, keeping the baby’s abdomen warm is crucial in preventing milk spitting up caused by getting cold.
