Is a man’s kidney health “written” on his face? If none of the four facial signs apply, consider yourself fortunate.

Must read

We all know that for men, the kidneys represent the overall essence and spirit, it is the foundation for men to strive in society. Only by taking good care of the kidneys do you have the capital to strive. Although many male friends want to know if their kidneys are healthy, they are hesitant to go for check-ups due to face-saving concerns. Today, let the public micro health experts tell us some simple identification methods so that we can easily discover whether our kidneys are healthy. Why not take a few minutes to self-test below!

Whether a man’s kidneys are healthy cannot be hidden on the face. If there are “3 black and 1 red” signs on the face, it may indicate a decline in kidney function. If none of these are present, it is a cause for celebration!

1. Dark Circles

After staying up late, dark circles may appear on the face. However, if you have been following a very regular lifestyle recently but still notice dark circles, you should pay attention, as it may indicate a decline in your kidney function. This is because in traditional Chinese medicine, the kidneys govern black, the kidneys govern water, meaning the kidneys are responsible for regulating the body’s fluid metabolism and maintaining fluid balance. Any problem with the kidneys can lead to edema in various parts of the body, especially around the eyes.

2. Dark Lips

The public micro health experts tell us that the lips of a normal person are usually slightly red. If your lips are dark red, very deep in color, or even somewhat black, it indicates insufficient kidney qi, as this is caused by blood stasis and qi stagnation due to kidney qi deficiency. Blood flowing at a normal rate will not make the lips appear in such color.

3. Dark Facial Complexion

Chinese people’s complexion can be summarized by the phrase ‘subtle red and yellow.’ This is because the red color is more pronounced on the cheekbones on both sides, while other parts tend to be yellow. These two colors subtly alternate without a clear boundary.

However, when a bluish-black color appears on the face, indicating severe blood stasis, or when the entire complexion turns gray or black, it may be a sign of declining kidney function. Apart from a dark complexion, there may also be symptoms such as sore and weak lower back and knees, urinary irregularities, and decreased sexual function.

4. Red Nose

The public micro health experts tell us that nowadays, many people have very poor dietary habits, indulging in various spicy and greasy foods, which lead to increasing weakness in the kidneys and spleen. This weakness manifests as redness on the nose and even the appearance of pimples.

If you notice your kidney function starting to decline, how can you maintain kidney health?

1. Keep the lower back warm

The public micro health experts remind us that the lower back is the most susceptible area to cold in our body, and the kidneys are located precisely in the lower back region. Therefore, it is essential to keep the lower back warm daily to prevent kidney damage and dysfunction.

2. Pressing the Kidney Point

Pressing the kidney point means pressing on the sole of the foot. The Kidney point is an acupoint of the Kidney Meridian of the Foot-Shaoyin. Rubbing this point can tonify kidney essence, regulate qi and blood circulation, and ensure sufficient kidney qi, promoting overall health and longevity.

Before going to bed each night, wash your feet with warm water, sit cross-legged on the bed, hold one foot with one hand, and press the sole of the foot with the other hand, causing it to be slightly painful with each press.

3. Tooth Knocking

In traditional Chinese medicine, teeth are considered as the remnants of bones, the residual qi of bones, with the kidneys governing the bones. The meridians of teeth are connected to the Kidney meridian. By strengthening the teeth, they can play a reinforcing role for the kidneys. Therefore, if direct kidney tonification is not convenient, maintaining strong teeth and knocking teeth frequently can also be an excellent way to tonify the kidneys.

Knocking teeth is simple, just tapping the upper and lower rows of teeth against each other. Note: Focus on the posterior molars for knocking, do not let the front teeth knock first.
