Four common contraception methods after giving birth. The third one is good, but many people still hesitate to use it.

Must read

This year is a special year. I have met many pregnant women on the street. It may be because they were not allowed to go out during the epidemic, so they stayed at home, resulting in more pregnancies. However, some who do not want children have also accidentally become pregnant, requiring an abortion. As women, we all know the harm caused to our bodies by abortions. Similar to postpartum confinement, abortions require good rest, no heavy work, no contact with cold water, no exposure to drafts, and so on. Just found out that a friend gave birth three months ago and is pregnant again. Now she is in a dilemma about having a second child. If she does, the eldest child cannot breastfeed, and her own body is not well recovered. As for abortion, she can’t bear to let go of this little life.

To avoid such dilemmas, we can take contraceptive measures. Currently, there are five known contraceptive measures:

1. Women use an intrauterine device.

Some friends around me have used this method successfully as a contraceptive. However, if used for a long time, it may embed in the flesh. A friend of mine wore it after giving birth to her first child. Now that her first child is 7 years old and she wants a second child, she decided to remove it and found it embedded in her flesh. After the doctor removed it with effort, my friend had to rest at home for many days.

2. Male sterilization.

Male sterilization has no impact on women, but men are usually unwilling because no one can guarantee that their marriage will always be harmonious or that they will grow old together. In the worst-case scenario, if they divorce and the children are awarded to the wife, and if the man wants to remarry but has lost fertility, wouldn’t that be too painful?

3. Condoms.

Condoms have no harm for both partners and are a widely adopted contraceptive method among many couples. However, some men do not like to wear them, feeling like a barrier. But I believe using condoms is a good method.

4. Birth control pills.

There are two types of birth control pills, one to be taken within 72 hours after intercourse. The other is a long-term pill. Regardless of long-term or short-term pills, they have an impact on a woman’s body. For those with good health, it might be acceptable, but for those with poor health, it can cause menstrual irregularities, vomiting, loss of appetite, and other negative effects. After all, it’s medicine, and all medicine has its risks, especially for prolonged use. Short-term pills should not exceed 3 times a month.

5. Withdrawal method.

This method is not safe and not recommended for couples.

Among these contraceptive methods for couples, I still believe that using condoms is the best. Both parties have nothing to worry about. Moms, do you have any good methods for contraception? Feel free to leave a comment.
