The patient came for a consultation upon referral, mainly regarding male health issues.
Ever since the two-child policy was relaxed, he and his wife have wanted to have another child, but after several years, they still haven’t managed to conceive.
As a result, both spouses underwent numerous examinations; the woman even had a hysterosalpingography done, but no issues were found. Therefore, considering the male factors, they sought help from Traditional Chinese Medicine, but despite taking a substantial amount of medicine, the results were not very satisfactory.
Initial and second visit
The patient’s initial consultation was on June 3, 2020, with the Traditional Chinese Medicine brain prescription as follows.
The patient’s physical condition is relatively poor, with frequent social engagements involving rich food and alcohol; he was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 40 and currently controls his blood sugar with insulin, reporting that his blood sugar level is manageable.
After being prescribed medication, the patient often did not take it on time. After receiving one week’s worth of medication, it took the patient half a month to finish it. After finishing the one-week supply, the patient noticed slight improvements in his sexual function. The second consultation was on June 17, 2020, and the prescribing doctor gave him another week’s worth, but again it took him half a month to finish it…
Third visit
On July 8, 2020, during the third consultation, the patient reported a noticeable improvement in his sexual function, so this time treatment was adjusted to address the issue of “oligospermia,” with a prescription of 10 doses.
Indeed, he still took half a month to consume it…
Fourth visit
The fourth visit was on July 22, 2020; the patient reported no significant improvement in his oligospermia, and the doctor continued with another 10 doses.
A month later, he sent me a test report.
On August 24, 2020, the patient’s report indicated that his sperm count has returned to normal, and both the number of sperm and their survival rate are normal, although sperm motility is still relatively low.
The doctor who referred the patient to me mentioned that the previous tests indicated no results could be obtained.
The patient is still continuing with the treatment, and the patient’s wife also mentioned that they are no longer as concerned about having a second child as they were a few years ago. They are taking everything as it comes, hoping that the patient can improve his health, as health is the most important thing.
