How many times a day is it normal for a man to urinate? Male expert: If it exceeds this number, most likely the kidneys are damaged

Must read

When it comes to the importance of male organ health, kidney function is definitely at the top of the list. Because in the eyes of men, the health of the kidneys represents a man’s dignity. Once there is an issue with the kidneys, it can be a comprehensive blow to men. Therefore, many men pay close attention to their kidney health. However, this also brings another issue – they may tend to avoid seeking medical help for fear of others knowing about their kidney problems. In fact, some of the health habits of men are not very good, and they do not have the habit of regular check-ups. So, when health problems occur, they often cannot detect them in time. However, it’s quite simple for a man to judge if there are problems with his kidney function. You can observe it by monitoring your daily urination. If your daily urination frequency and urine color are normal, then congratulations, it means your kidneys are relatively healthy.

Why can we judge kidney health by urine? This is mainly because the kidneys are the organs that produce urine in our body. We can judge the normal functioning of the kidneys by the daily amount of urine passed. Generally, the kidneys can produce about 1L to 2L of urine a day, and the amount of urine a person excretes each time is about 200ml to 400ml. So, under normal circumstances, a man will urinate about 3 to 6 times during the day and 0 to 2 times at night. If one day you drink too much water, the amount of urine may increase. But if you are drinking water normally and find yourself urinating more than 8 times during the day and more than 3 times at night, it’s likely that there’s an issue with your kidneys.

Apart from the frequency of urination, these urine traits can also serve as indicators:

Presence of foam in urine

If you notice white or yellow foam in your urine after urinating, and the foam doesn’t dissipate after several minutes, you should take it seriously. This is mostly because of kidney issues where protein in the urine is not filtered out timely by the kidneys and is excreted with the urine. In such cases, immediate medical examination is necessary.

Observing if there are small particles in urine

After checking for foam in urine, you can also look for “small particles” in the urine. If found, it indicates the likely presence of “small kidney stones” in your kidneys. If so, there may be pain during urination and discomfort in the lower back. If left untreated, the kidneys can suffer more severe damage.

Observing urine color

Normal urine color should be pale yellow or transparent. If your urine is dark yellow, brown, or blood red, it’s not normal. Such abnormal urine colors are often related to kidney problems and should be taken seriously.

Smelling urine

Although the smell of normal urine is unpleasant, it shouldn’t be foul. If after urinating, you smell a strong unpleasant odor from the urine, it indicates possible kidney issues, likely inflammation. Immediate treatment is advised as it can significantly affect daily life.

Every man wants to have healthy kidneys. But just wishing for it is not enough; action must be taken. It’s best to stay hydrated, avoid holding urine for too long, and prolonged sitting. Also, it’s better to limit the intake of salt, sugar, and some high-purine foods to better protect the kidneys.
