How should women prevent the occurrence of endometriosis in their daily lives?

Must read

Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease that occurs in women of childbearing age, and women with this condition generally have difficulty conceiving. So, can those with endometriosis still undergo in vitro fertilization? Additionally, how should one prevent endometriosis in daily life?

1. Avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation

Although appropriate sexual activity is beneficial for physical and mental health, it must be strictly avoided during menstruation. The uterus is more vulnerable at this time, and unrestricted sexual activity can easily cause uterine damage, increasing the risk of bacterial infection and consequently raising the likelihood of developing endometriosis.

2. Ensure proper menstrual care

To prevent endometriosis, women should pay attention to menstrual care. Sanitary pads should be changed promptly, and external areas should be cleaned thoroughly, but care must be taken to avoid introducing bacteria. It’s also necessary to prevent retrograde menstruation during this time; otherwise, it could lead to uterine damage and result in endometriosis.

3. Take contraceptive measures

If there are no immediate plans for having children, effective contraceptive measures must be taken during sexual activity to avoid multiple induced abortions. Each abortion causes significant damage to the uterus, and if there are more than three, it greatly increases the risk of endometriosis. Additionally, it may lead to cervical changes and uterine adhesions, with severe cases potentially resulting in cancer or infertility.

4. Avoid prolonged sitting

Preventing endometriosis also requires avoiding long periods of sitting. Long sitting can affect the blood circulation to the reproductive organs, weakening the immune function of the uterus and increasing the likelihood of endometriosis. Therefore, it’s essential to avoid sitting for extended periods and engage in regular exercise to promote blood circulation and lower the risk of disease.

5. Avoid gynecological surgery close to menstruation

If you wish to avoid being troubled by endometriosis, steer clear of gynecological surgeries close to your menstrual period. If surgery is necessary for certain reasons, gentle methods must be employed during the procedure to avoid forcefully compressing the uterine body, as this could push the endometrium into the fallopian tubes and abdominal cavity, causing endometriosis.

Endometriosis is also one of the indications for in vitro fertilization; generally, as long as ovarian function is good, in vitro fertilization treatment can be considered.
