Male sexual dysfunction can lead to what harms? How can it be prevented?

Must read

As people’s life pressure increases, in recent years, the incidence of sexual dysfunction has been on the rise year by year, with more individuals troubled by sexual dysfunction, posing a significant threat to their health and bringing a heavy psychological burden and negative emotions to patients. However, many friends are still not very aware of the dangers of common sexual dysfunctions and have not paid attention to these diseases, leading to the occurrence of the conditions.

1. Depressed Mood

This leads to a depressed mood in patients. Long-term excessive psychological pressure, constantly shrouded in the shadow of sexual dysfunction, can result in the loss of previous cheerful laughter, the loss of masculine beauty, and the loss of a man’s dignity. No matter how successful or glorious you were before, once you suffer from a sexual dysfunction, you may become troubled and sluggish, and it could even lead to a split in the patient’s psyche.

2. Decrease in Physical Function

This can lead to a severe decline in sexual physical function. From the causes of sexual dysfunction, conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and prostatitis can trigger it. If a person suffers from sexual dysfunction, it indicates that their health has significantly deteriorated. If medical attention is not sought in a timely manner, over time, it can lead to irreversible harm and develop into permanent sexual dysfunction.

3. Causes Infertility

This leads to infertility. Patients with erectile dysfunction cannot achieve an erection, making it impossible to penetrate the female partner and deliver sperm to the cervical opening, which is essential for achieving pregnancy. Some patients with partial erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation may, with difficulty, manage to deliver sperm to the female uterus for fertilization, but if premature ejaculation or erectile dysfunction is due to illness, it can negatively impact the health of the next generation.

How can one prevent sexual dysfunction in daily life?

1. Exercise

For men, the oxygen consumption, increased heart rate, and elevated blood pressure during a sexual act are comparable to climbing 2 or 3 flights of stairs. If climbing 2 or 3 flights of stairs makes you flush and out of breath, then you certainly won’t be able to enjoy a fulfilling sex life.

2. Three ‘No’s’

Do not stay up late, do not smoke, do not drink alcohol; maintaining a regular lifestyle is the basic principle for maintaining physical fitness and preventing erectile dysfunction due to arteriosclerosis. Therefore, it’s essential to exercise regularly to enhance physical strength and cardiorespiratory function, enabling one to enjoy the pleasures of sex. Any aerobic exercise that can improve cardiorespiratory capacity is effective, such as running, cycling, swimming, and playing sports.

Research shows that more exercise promotes hormone secretion. The erection nerves and the lower body motor nerves are closely related. Additionally, strong ejaculation requires robust lower abdominal and calf muscle contractions, which explains why serious individuals may experience soreness in their legs similar to that after climbing a mountain.

3. Relaxation

Stress is the greatest fatal injury to “sexuality” for middle-aged men. Under pressure, a person must focus on coping, which can create tension, naturally resulting in increased secretion of adrenaline, leading to blood vessel constriction, accelerated heart rate, and elevated blood pressure in response to sudden situations.

The increase in adrenaline has a negative impact on male erection because blood vessels need to relax for an erection to occur. However, the increased adrenaline due to stress causes blood vessels to constrict, resulting in the natural failure of erections.

4. Weight Loss and Management of Chronic Diseases

There is currently no cure for sexual dysfunction caused by disease, so the most important preventative measure is to effectively manage the underlying condition. Obese individuals have a higher likelihood of developing these chronic diseases, so it is best to aim for weight loss.
