Prostate problems are a common concern for men, especially those over 50 years old. Some men may not understand why issues with the prostate are so common. In fact, the prostate has things it “fears”, so if you want to prevent frequent problems, it’s best not to touch any of those things.
What does the prostate “fear”?
It “fears” being “cold”. Men generally have good physical resilience and do not feel as sensitive to cold as women do. As a result, many men neglect the importance of keeping warm, and some even dress lightly in very cold weather. When men are exposed to cold, it can cause stimulation and congestion. If you constantly expose yourself to cold conditions, the prostate might remain congested for a long time, increasing the risk of inflammation.
Many men nowadays spend long hours sitting down and rarely engage in physical activity. It “fears” being “pressed”. Due to its location, as soon as you sit down, it will be under pressure. If you sit for prolonged periods, the prostate will experience temporary ischemia, affecting its functionality.
It also “fears” being “spicy”. Many men enjoy spicy foods, but spice can be irritating to the body. Consuming excessively spicy foods can lead to local congestion and potentially inflammation. It is advisable for men to maintain a balanced diet and consume less spicy and stimulating food.
Some professions, such as drivers and office workers, develop a habit of holding in urine due to their work requirements. Holding in urine is a detrimental habit, and the prostate “fears” it too. Urine contains metabolic waste from the body, and if not expelled in a timely manner, it can breed bacteria. Regularly holding in urine can lead to bacterial contamination and inflammation.
Men often participate in social activities such as gatherings which may involve alcohol consumption. But the prostate “fears” alcohol; therefore, men should drink moderately. Alcohol consumption can stimulate the blood vessels, leading to dilation, congestion, and eventually swelling of the prostate if consumed frequently.
Another fear is being “tight”. Many men tend to wear tight-fitting jeans for style, but from a physiological perspective, it is not advisable for men to wear overly tight pants. Tight pants can compress the prostate, leading to ischemia. The increased local temperature caused by tight clothing can promote bacterial growth, putting additional pressure on the prostate and potentially causing inflammation.
If the prostate develops issues, the symptoms are quite noticeable, including frequent urination, urgency, pain during urination, lower abdominal discomfort, and split urination. If you experience these symptoms, prompt medical evaluation is necessary.
Men should avoid the things that the prostate fears, drink plenty of water, urinate regularly, consume fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins, maintain a positive mood, avoid staying up late, adhere to a regular sleep schedule, and ensure sufficient rest. By taking these precautions, prostate problems can be prevented, safeguarding its health.
