With the progress of society, the average lifespan of modern people is also getting longer. According to data, the current average lifespan of females has reached 77.4 years, while that of males is 72.4 years. From the data, it can be seen that the average lifespan of females is 5.2 years higher than that of males. Faced with this data, many males start saying that the pressure society puts on men is too great. They have to earn money to buy a house, build a career, take care of their families, wives, and children, and deal with many business social events, claiming that women’s pressure is not as great as men’s and that is why women’s lifespan is higher.
Actually, in modern urban areas, women’s pressure is not less than that of men. To find the reasons for the lower average lifespan of males compared to females, I think we should look at their respective lifestyle habits. In fact, the lifestyle habits of most women are much better than those of men. Men often indulge in excessive eating and drinking, pay little attention to nutritional balance, and do not care about detoxification, focusing only on immediate happiness without considering the consequences. It is evident that men indeed do not prioritize protecting their bodies like women do.
For instance, they do not pay much attention to shaving regularly; they either shave off their beards as soon as they grow or sometimes go a long time without shaving, purely based on their mood. But shaving does affect a man’s lifespan, especially at certain times when it is advisable not to shave, as it could potentially lead to a shorter lifespan.
Shaving before washing your face. Beards grow quickly, sometimes even after just one night. Many people shave before washing their faces in the morning to maintain a clean appearance for work. They believe that shaving before washing will help wash away the remaining stubble and cleanse the area properly. However, this has a significant impact on the hair follicles in the shaved area. After shaving, the follicles become fragile, and the facial cleansers used during washing can cause serious skin irritation and inflammation in the long run. Therefore, it is best for male friends to clean their beards after washing their faces.
Shaving while taking a shower. Some men tend to multitask while showering to save time. Although it might seem convenient to shave while the warm water is running on the beard during a shower, it is not ideal. The warm water from the shower can introduce dirt into the follicles, leading to infections and inflammation.
Shaving before exercising. Nowadays, some men are becoming more health-conscious and engaging in fitness activities. To appear refreshed at the gym, they often shave their beards before working out. Although the intention is good, the sweat produced during exercise can mix with the beard, potentially causing skin redness and swelling. So, it is preferable not to shave before exercising.
When is the best time to shave for better results? It is recommended for male friends to shave after washing their faces or during midday, as this can effectively clean the stubble and protect the skin in the beard area.
