These behaviors of men can easily “ruin” the prostate! Don’t take it lightly.

Must read

(1) Prolonged Sitting

Nowadays, many people are keen on using computers to browse the internet, playing mahjong or driving taxis, often spending a whole day without realizing it. However, due to prolonged sitting, blood circulation in the pelvic region is limited, which over time inevitably leads to “stasis” of various organs in the pelvic area, resulting in pelvic congestion syndrome and a series of clinical symptoms. If the stasis primarily occurs in the prostate region, it can lead to prostatitis dysfunction (previously referred to as “chronic abacterial prostatitis”).

Solution: In fact, to solve the adverse effects brought by this habit of prolonged sitting, there are many simple solutions—just stand up and do some exercises for 10 to 15 minutes every two hours. Additionally, doing some inversion exercises regularly would be even better. Besides, a warm water sitz bath or medication (30g of red vine, 30g of honeysuckle vine, 15g each of frankincense and myrrh, and 10g each of anemarrhena, phellodendron, and plantago seeds. Boil in water for a sitz bath) once a day or every other day can also be an effective method.

(2) Lack of Exercise

This could be considered as one of the most adverse lifestyles of our time. Many conditions that typically occur in middle-aged and older adults are now commonly seen in young people around the age of 30. This physical condition has severely affected people’s normal work and life. A lack of exercise often leads to an abnormal internal environment in the body, which over time can cause endocrine dysfunction, and the prostate is one of the glands easily affected by endocrine factors, thus also prone to prostate diseases.

Solution: Find an exercise you enjoy and allocate half an hour to an hour each day for it. From a lifelong perspective, exercising for half an hour daily can lead to better work performance and a healthier life.

(3) Excessive Drinking

In small amounts, alcohol can be beneficial to the body, but this is only true for those who are normally tolerant to alcohol. If a man has low alcohol tolerance and is of a damp-heat physique, excessive drinking will inevitably cause pelvic congestion, leading to engorgement or edema of the reproductive organs, resulting in prostate diseases.

Solution: Quit drinking. If faced with unavoidable drinking occasions, one can opt for small amounts of yellow wine or red wine, avoiding white spirits and beer. When dining alone, it’s best to abstain from alcohol.

(4) Sexual Activity After Drinking

Solution: Avoiding sexual activity after drinking is essential.

(5) Binge Eating (including obesity)

Binge eating can increase pelvic pressure in a short period, compressing the pelvic region, which in turn obstructs blood flow. Over time, this can lead to engorgement and edema of the prostate, further resulting in chronic prostatitis and prostatitis dysfunction.

Solution: Change dietary habits. Those with spleen and stomach dysfunction should seek traditional Chinese medicine for regulation. For those who have already become obese, it is recommended to eliminate binge and overeating while engaging in scientific weight loss strategies, particularly through behavioral therapy and a comprehensive differentiation and treatment approach using traditional Chinese medicine.
