When the height of summer arrives, it signifies the beginning of the hottest period in the “Sanfu Days” where the temperature is high, the air is dry and hot, making it very uncomfortable. So, in such weather, without air conditioning, it is impossible to work or sleep. Therefore, we spend almost the entire day dealing with the air conditioner, blowing it during the day and at night, experiencing the feeling of moving between extremes of hot and cold every day. However, frequent use of air conditioning can also bring certain health risks. Especially for our spleen and stomach, they are prone to weaknesses caused by the invasion of cold air from the air conditioner, affecting our overall health. Therefore, during the “Sanfu Days,” it is important to timely maintain the spleen and stomach so they can stay healthy throughout the summer. So, how should we nourish our spleen and stomach during the “Sanfu Days”? For friends with weak spleen and stomach during the “Sanfu Days,” it is recommended to frequently eat eight steamed dishes that can warm the body and mind, nourish the spleen, replenish protein, and calcium to get through the summer. Next, I will share the recipes for these eight steamed dishes, so for those who are interested, let’s learn together.
1. Tomato Potato Steamed Ribs
Prepare ingredients: Ribs, potatoes, tomatoes, shredded ginger, scallions, chopped scallions.
Cooking steps:
1. Chop the ribs into small pieces, wash them clean, then add shredded ginger, scallions, starch, soy sauce, and peanut oil, mix well, marinate for twenty minutes.
2. Wash the tomatoes clean, cut them into small pieces, then place them at the bottom of the steaming bowl, then peel and wash the potatoes, cut them into small pieces and place them on top of the tomatoes.
3. Finally, place the marinated ribs on top, then steam in a steamer with cold water for about forty minutes, sprinkle some chopped scallions for freshness before serving.
2. Pumpkin Steamed Meat Cake
Prepare ingredients: Pumpkin, lean meat, chopped green onions, ginger slices.
Cooking steps:
1. Wash the lean meat and chop it into minced meat, then put it in a large bowl, peel and wash the pumpkin, cut it into pumpkin cubes and add them to the meat.
2. Add an appropriate amount of starch, light soy sauce, chopped green onions, and peanut oil to the large bowl, knead the mixture with the pumpkin and lean meat, marinate for twenty minutes.
3. Shape the marinated pumpkin meat mixture into meat cakes and place them at the bottom of the steaming bowl, then add a slice of ginger, steam in a steamer with cold water.
4. After steaming for about thirty minutes, sprinkle some chopped green onions for freshness before serving.
3. Tomato Cauliflower Steamed Meat Slices
Prepare ingredients: Lean meat, cauliflower, tomatoes, shredded ginger, chopped scallions.
Cooking steps:
1. Wash the lean meat and slice it thinly, then add shredded ginger, starch, cooking wine, light soy sauce, and peanut oil, mix well, marinate for ten minutes.
2. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces, then place them at the bottom of the steaming bowl, then cut the cauliflower into small florets and place them on top of the tomatoes, finally place the marinated meat slices on top of the cauliflower and tomatoes.
3. Boil water in a pot, and after it boils, steam the prepared tomato, cauliflower, and meat slices in a steamer.
4. After steaming for about twenty-five minutes, sprinkle some chopped scallions for freshness before serving.
4. Steamed Vegetable Meatballs
Prepare ingredients: Lean meat, bok choy, carrots, chopped scallions, ginger slices.
Cooking steps:
1. Wash the bok choy, blanch the bok choy and carrot slices in boiling water, then cut them into small pieces, mix with minced vegetables and carrots in a large bowl.
2. Wash and chop the lean meat into minced meat, place in the large bowl, then add starch, chopped scallions, light soy sauce, salt, and peanut oil, mix well.
3. Shape the vegetable meat mixture into meatballs and place them in the steaming bowl, add a slice of ginger, then steam in a steamer with cold water.
4. After steaming for about twenty-five minutes, sprinkle some chopped scallions for freshness before serving.
5. Garlic Steamed Ribs
Prepare ingredients: Ribs, minced garlic, minced scallions, shredded ginger.
Cooking steps:
1. Chop the ribs into small pieces, wash them clean, then add minced garlic, minced scallions, shredded ginger, starch, light soy sauce, and peanut oil, mix well, marinate for twenty minutes.
2. Place the marinated ribs in the steaming bowl, then steam in a steamer with cold water.
3. After steaming for about thirty-five minutes, sprinkle some chopped scallions for freshness before serving.
6. Sponge Gourd Steamed Meat Cake
Prepare ingredients: Sponge gourd, lean meat, shredded ginger, scallions, chopped scallions.
Cooking steps:
1. Wash and chop the lean meat into minced meat, then add chopped scallions, starch, light soy sauce, and peanut oil, mix well, marinate for ten minutes.
2. Peel and wash the sponge gourd, then cut it into small pieces and place them at the bottom of the steaming bowl, shape the marinated meat mixture into meat cakes, then place them on top of the sponge gourd.
3. Boil water in a pot, and after it boils, steam the prepared sponge gourd meat cakes in a steamer.
4. After steaming for about twenty-five minutes, sprinkle some chopped scallions for freshness before serving.
7. Baby Bok Choy Steamed Beef
Prepare ingredients: Beef, baby bok choy, shredded ginger, black pepper, chopped scallions.
Cooking steps:
1. Wash and thinly slice the beef, then add shredded ginger, starch, black pepper, light soy sauce, and peanut oil, mix well, marinate for ten minutes.
2. Wash the baby bok choy, then place them at the bottom of the steaming bowl, place the marinated beef on top of the baby bok choy, then boil water in a pot.
3. After the water boils, steam the baby bok choy and beef, and after steaming for about twenty minutes, serve it with chopped scallions on top.
8. Yam Meat Cake Steamed Egg
Prepare ingredients: Lean meat, yam, eggs, chopped scallions, ginger slices.
Cooking steps:
1. Wash the lean meat thoroughly and chop it into minced meat, then place it in a large bowl, peel and wash the yam, cut into yam pieces and add to the meat.
2. Add chopped scallions, starch, light soy sauce, and peanut oil to the large bowl, mix evenly, then shape into meat cakes and place them in the steaming bowl, leaving a small well in the center.
3. Crack an egg into the well, then boil water in a pot, and after it boils, steam the yam meat cake with egg in a steamer.
