Red dates can nourish qi and blood, how many grams should one eat daily? It’s not suitable for everyone, what about you?

Must read

Red dates are quite commonly used in daily life. They can enhance our body’s resistance and immunity, while also inhibiting the generation of cancer cells. If researched from a pharmacological perspective, red dates can promote the production of white blood cells, lower serum cholesterol, increase the levels of proteins that restore our confidence, and protect our liver. Additionally, red dates can convert cancer cells into normal red cells. Although the benefits of red dates are many, they are a source of protein, and everyone can consume them. However, who should avoid eating red dates?

To understand who should not eat red dates, we first need to look at their main components. Red dates are rich in B vitamins, which can accelerate blood circulation in our body, giving our skin and hair a radiant appearance and smoothing out facial wrinkles. If you can eat red dates raw, you will retain the powerful antioxidant vitamin C within them, while also participating in some physiological oxygen reduction processes. This helps to release melanin deposits in our body, reducing the formation of melanin and spots, and greatly improving the inner walls of our capillaries.

People who often eat red dates will find that their skin elasticity improves. For those with abundant subcutaneous tissue, their skin will appear more delicate and smooth. However, that doesn’t mean everyone can eat red dates.

For women who are on their menstrual period, they should avoid eating red dates. During menstruation, some women experience severe edema, and at this time, dampness becomes particularly pronounced. This group of people is not suited to consume red dates, as their sweet flavor can easily lead to phlegm and moisture accumulation, exacerbating the condition of water retention.

For those with phlegm-damp syndrome, their symptoms often include a thick tongue coating and a sweet, greasy sensation in the mouth, along with poor appetite, a feeling of fullness in the stomach, and dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. They may also experience swelling in their eyes and face. Eating red dates under these circumstances will aggravate these health issues, leading to symptoms of poor health. To improve this condition, it’s advisable to consume some coix seeds, red beans, yam, and loofah, among others, to strengthen the spleen and benefit the stomach.

Individuals in the early stages of a cold should also refrain from eating red dates. During this period, symptoms of wind-cold or wind-heat invading the body can become particularly intense. Consuming red dates during this time can easily lead to an imbalance in the body’s natural state, causing pathogenic energy to stagnate and not allowing the body to expel viruses effectively, which is not conducive to recovering from a cold.

Although red dates are popular in our daily lives and can help replenish the body’s qi and blood, it’s important not to consume them excessively. The daily intake of red dates should not exceed 100 grams. Furthermore, the aforementioned groups of people should reduce the frequency of red date consumption, as both physiological and pathological factors must be considered for one’s health.
