Nowadays, many of us have a very troubling issue, which is constipation. This is because many people do not eat healthily, often consuming things that are not good for the intestines or eating things that are difficult to digest. Additionally, many people go throughout the day without feeling thirsty, leading them to not drink water proactively. Consequently, the food in their intestines won’t digest easily, and after some time, they will start feeling uncomfortable in the intestines, eventually leading to constipation.
In response to constipation, here are some methods or points to pay attention to. Firstly, there are three types of foods that are best avoided. One is fried foods, as the salt and oil content make them hard to digest. Then there are nuts like chestnuts, which are also difficult to digest and should be eaten sparingly. Lastly, very dry foods like crackers or spicy foods can burden the intestines heavily, potentially leading to constipation if consumed frequently.
After discussing the foods to avoid, let’s talk about foods that are good for the intestines and can be eaten more by those suffering from constipation. Here are three. Firstly, congee is excellent for the intestines, as many already know. Secondly, fruits are beneficial for hydration, especially for those who dislike drinking water. And lastly, water itself is crucial because inadequate water content in the intestines can lead to difficulty in bowel movements; thus, consciously remembering to drink plenty of water daily is very beneficial for improving constipation.
Lastly, there are some helpful methods, such as acupressure on specific points. Three points have been highlighted: Tian Shu point, Zhi Gou point, and Zu San Li point. If you have trouble locating these points, you can search for images online to help identify them. When you have free time, whether sitting or standing, try pressing these points. While this may not cure constipation, it can be quite helpful for constipation sufferers in the process of regulation.
