Treatment for 2-year-old baby’s indigestion folk remedy

Must read

For the problem of 2-year-old baby with poor digestion, you can try the following home care methods:

One is to make Spleen-Strengthening and Digestive Cake. You need to prepare 30g each of Poria powder, Chinese yam powder, and malt powder, as well as 15g each of Astragalus extract and black sesame powder. Mix these materials evenly, add an appropriate amount of water to form a dough, make thin cakes, and slowly bake until the surface turns golden yellow. It is recommended to give a moderate amount per meal, twice a day, long-term consumption helps improve children’s poor appetite and spleen deficiency symptoms.

Another method is to make Children’s Digestive Congee. The required ingredients include 10g hawthorn slices, 50g sorghum rice, and an appropriate amount of milk powder and sugar. First fry the hawthorn slices and sorghum rice until brown, grind them into coarse powder, then cook into congee. Adjust the amount according to the child’s age: babies under 1 year old take 10g each time, three times a day; 2 to 3-year-olds take 20g each time; 4 to 5-year-olds take 30g each time, you can add a small amount of milk powder and sugar according to taste. This congee can effectively promote children’s digestive function.

There is also a traditional Chinese medicine therapy – Navel Compress. Use 1g each of cinnamon, Plantago asiatica, and Evodia rutaecarpa, grind them into powder, mix with yellow wine to make a paste, apply it on the baby’s belly button, stick with medical adhesive tape, remove after about 4 to 6 hours, once a day. For diarrhea caused by improper feeding, especially for babies with weak spleen and stomach, this method is remarkably effective.

Babies with poor digestion often show various symptoms, such as abdominal bloating, frequent burping, flatulence, decreased appetite, occasional vomiting, irregular bowel movements (possibly diarrhea or constipation), restless sleep, and facial flushing. To prevent these issues, parents should pay attention to timely and proper feeding, cultivate children’s good eating habits, avoid picky eating, ensure balanced nutrition, reduce snack intake, create a good dining environment, maintain the child’s appetite, keep the abdomen warm, prevent colds, ensure smooth digestion, establish regular bowel habits, and emphasize food hygiene. Educate children to wash hands before meals, choose fresh and easily digestible foods, avoid eating while playing or reading, and avoid consuming highly stimulating foods.
