Timely protein supplementation can yield better results.

First, adequate protein can promote muscle growth and make one’s muscle lines more defined. Those who have been working out for a long time surely understand the importance of protein. The higher the muscle content in the body, the faster the basal metabolism becomes, naturally leading to less excess fat and a much slimmer figure.

Secondly, it can also accelerate fat burning. Individuals with sufficient protein will have more normal endocrine systems, which will speed up the body’s fat consumption and burning rate. When the body consumes protein, it requires a large amount of calories to assist, and the more calories consumed, the better the weight loss effect will be.

Muscles become increasingly loose. Some might think this is a sign of becoming slimmer, indicating that the fat inside is slowly dissolving. In fact, this is due to a lack of protein, leading to a decline in muscle quality. Loose muscles can not only affect physical health but can also make one appear heavier, giving a feeling of becoming fatter despite efforts to lose weight.

Immunity is getting weaker. Many people complain that while they are losing weight, their health conditions also deteriorate, and they catch colds or fevers more often. The body feels increasingly fatigued, as if one is going to become “Lin Daiyu.” This is primarily because of insufficient protein, causing a decline in bodily functions and lower immunity.

Hair is falling out more. Many women experience hair loss while trying to lose weight; every time they brush their hair, the comb is often entangled with a significant amount of hair, indicating an insufficiency of protein in the body.

Hair growth relies on the support of protein, and if the body lacks protein, the hair loses its nutrient supply and becomes finer, making it unable to stay anchored to the scalp, leading to more severe hair loss and shedding.

Energy levels are decreasing. If one is dieting, being in a state of hunger is normal, and it’s expected to feel mentally sluggish. However, if one’s diet remains consistent but still feels lethargic, it is likely due to protein deficiency. A lack of protein leads to poor concentration and increasingly low moods, hence vegetarian weight loss should be approached with caution; meat can be consumed in moderation during the weight loss period.

Some people believe that since protein can promote muscle growth and fat burning, one can increase protein intake while losing weight. In fact, if someone consumes too much protein, it can also lead to weight gain. Excess protein that cannot be properly consumed may convert to fat, and consequently, that person may end up gaining weight.

When losing weight, it is sufficient to supplement with an appropriate amount of protein. For example, if someone weighs 120 pounds, during the weight loss period, they should consume at least 150-190 grams of protein daily to achieve better weight loss results.
