However, a problem arises as many eager to lose weight weigh themselves every morning, evening, before meals, and after meals, seemingly afraid of gaining a few pounds suddenly.

Gradually, people find that the weight measured at different times of the same day varies. So, when is the most accurate time to weigh yourself?

To determine your net weight, it is best to weigh yourself every morning after waking up, preferably after using the restroom. This is because overnight metabolism mostly digests the food in our body and eliminating waste can clear out any stored feces in the intestines. Also, not having eaten breakfast or consumed water at this time, your current weight should be the most accurate. Weigh yourself at this time every day to accurately observe changes in weight over a period.

However, some points to note while weighing yourself include the following:

First: Use the same weighing scale whenever possible

There may be slight differences between different scales, leading to variations in the weight measured. Moreover, many electronic scales nowadays are quite advanced, providing personal data like BMI index, muscle mass percentage, physiological age, making the base weight essential.

Second: Weigh yourself in the same location

Different flooring can also affect the accuracy of the measurement by the scale. For instance, some surfaces are not solid, while others may have carpets, causing differences. For accurate measurements, it is advisable to weigh yourself in a fixed location each time, preferably in an area at home that doesn’t take up space and is convenient for measurements.

Third: Do not be overly sensitive

Weight loss and body shaping require long-term planning and are not quick fixes. Many people weigh themselves multiple times a day, celebrating if they lose weight and feeling down if they gain, resembling a rollercoaster ride emotionally and affecting their confidence in weight loss.
