Why is it easy to be obese, but difficult to lose weight? There are three reasons, you may want to learn about them

Why is it easy to become obese but hard to lose weight? There are three reasons to explore.

Most people find it easy to gain weight but difficult to lose it! Let’s analyze it here and see if it makes sense.

Firstly, obesity is mostly caused by excess nutrients leading to fat accumulation. The typical process is like this: because the food is very delicious, we can’t help but take a few more bites. And this process is enjoyable, comfortable. Assuming our digestive system is healthy, the extra bites of delicious food will undoubtedly be absorbed by the body, thereby converting into stored fat. This is a natural, unconscious process. If we indulge in a few extra bites every day, enjoying the pleasant experience, we unconsciously gain weight, making weight gain effortless, even enjoyable.

Secondly, in the natural state of the human body, when we lack energy, the first thing we feel is not fat burning, but the sensation of “hunger.” Thus, we consume more food, and the previously stored fat never gets the chance to be burned.

Lastly, excess sugars or proteins converted into fat cause weight gain. To lose weight, we need to convert stored fat into energy and release it, so we need to endure hunger or burn fat through extensive exercise, which is a reverse process. It is like water. If going from top to bottom, we simply need to open the gate. But going from bottom to top requires a power source to complete, making it challenging, which is why losing weight is difficult.

Without a change in mindset, can weight loss be sustained without rebounding? Difficult! See if you fall into this category.

In fact, if you can maintain a balanced diet and increase physical activity, weight loss is not difficult. Many weight loss centers claim you can lose 30 pounds in one month. I can tell you for sure, this is not an imaginary figure. It is entirely achievable, and I have seen many such cases. However, in my opinion, this is not a good trend. Most people experience even more significant rebounds later on.

Actually, the method for losing weight is straightforward: “control what you eat, get moving, and stay consistent.” Losing 30 pounds in a month is not difficult with these three points.

1. Control your diet – eat more vegetables, less meat, avoid fatty foods, and eat until you are 70-80% full at each meal. Have a 60% full dinner.

2. Maintain a regular daily routine, using the schedule of a typical school day as a reference.

3. Exercise in the morning and evening, with each session lasting 40 minutes (ensure sweating for 20 minutes per workout). Keep this up for a month.

It’s easy to maintain for a month, but I doubt many can keep it up for 10 years. At least, I haven’t seen many. Therefore, rebounding is inevitable. If you stop exercising, the rebound will be even more severe. The faster you lose weight, the quicker the rebound. So, I don’t agree it’s a good weight loss method.

Diet habits lead to obesity. If you view weight loss as just a task, once the goal is achieved, you will likely return to the previous lifestyle. There might even be a compensatory mentality, leading to weight loss failure. Therefore, we must change our mindset. Weight loss is not the goal; it’s about correcting unhealthy habits to develop a healthy lifestyle. Weight loss is just a byproduct of this process. If weight loss methods are too strict, forming habits will be difficult.

Life should be a wonderful experience that people look forward to. Harsh living conditions will only make people want to escape. Therefore, quick weight loss is not the solution.
